But the denial reasons in the threads linked above aren't correct anymore (not even sure if they were at the time lol). All third party content is either proxied (in the case of images) or is limited to a specific collection of sites, of which I would imagine all are HTTPS (and if not, it's probably not a good idea to even be using those sites). I'd also imagine there's a lot of people on here which use the same email/pass combo as other sites that are somewhat more important, and since it's pretty trivial to MITM the site (like if you're on public wifi or whatever), then a potential attacker could get that info and try it elsewhere. The only reason not to do it at this point is laziness, which is never a valid excuse.
