Well, if someone reports the hacker, they'll have evidence of it. That way it doesn't matter if they disable their hacks when a staff member joins. :)
I think it's always good to have evidence of things. It's less important with hacking though, as there's a chance you'll just be able to see the hacks yourself when you spectate. However, because people can just disable their hacks, it's still good to have evidence. In short: evidence is important, but for hacker reports, staff can just spectate the hacker and see the hacks themself. That's why it's less important with hacking, but it's still important because the hackers may disable their hacks.
that is EXACTLY the problem. that small window where the staff has to go into spectate gives the hacker a window to turn on Panic and disable all of their hacks. and, as trevor said, if you have evidence, it's usually best to put it on the forums, as the only REAL evidence would be video.
but then, it takes them 6 seconds to switch to a new alt and continue cheating, and it takes us maybe 15 minutes to upload, render and make forums post.
There is no "it's good to have evidence" as a just in case scenario, we literally *need* to have it in any and all scenarios where we issue a punishment to a player. So if someone sees us and then toggles, in 99% of the cases where the player reporting doesn't have evidence already, it becomes much harder for us to collect it because they know we're there watching. It's probably MORE important to have it with a hacking offense as with anything chat related, personal chat longs exist in your files, especially since a permanent ban vs a warning is a drastically different punishment.
