Do you have anything to say about them having 0 experience and not being trained as well? i come back and get muted by a kid in middle school for calling a friends name gay and they told me "kys" but i get muted?. I've even had current staff tell me the new recruits are dumb and don't know what they're doing. When your own staff members agree with me about you guys looking desperate its sad.
I don't care enough to report them because i don't play on the server as much as i used to. You accept someone new and don't watch over them? As far as staff apps go just about everyone lies in them whether it may be a just a little lie or the entire thing. I just personally think accepting 13 year olds as staff and giving them power to mute/ban etc is a very dumb decision.
You may believe people lie in their apps but the thing is, is that some 13 year olds are more mature than older people.
As for experience some may not have as much but that's not up to us to sort out.
yea I read the whole msg ik you said some I just accidentally didn't include it in the quote
When I was 13, speaking from a personal experience, I had no experience whatsoever and even older people don't have experience but they 10000% have MORE experience than a 13 y.o has, from that point of view (pt.1)
When you're 13 it's pre-puberty, like you JUST hit puberty and it's a very confusing age. You question yourself and everyone around you but that's what everyone does, it doesn't make you "mature"
Mature for me means someone with experience and enough knownledge to think and cope with difficult situations and don't get me wrong, I wouldn't consider myself one because I freak out and panic +I don't have enough experience I agree with nef on this, most of the staff team doesn't know what it's doing and as a former staff member I really dislike that (pt.3)
Promotions now are like every 2 weeks when it used to be every 5 months. It's too easy to get helper now and we have too many unskilled people on our team but whatever I don't think that will change anytime soon (final)
That's fair enough, I guess I see your point of view but there are A FEW 13 year olds who have had lots of life experience as they've had many irl things that have allowed them to gain the maturity.
Lol true, I see what you guys are getting at. Personally I haven't encountered any of the new staff yet but people need to be trained properly before becoming staff possibly or maybe they should introduce more processes you have to go through to get staff. I know other servers do tests and Skype interviews. I'm not saying this should be done but an application doesn't tell you everything about a person.
To be fair, most of the past and present staff members have been accepted with little to no prior experience and most have done fairly well. I don't want to boast or anything but I'm one of them, someone who came into the job not having a single clue of what to expect..and I'm still here to this day.
That's the thing, this is a Minecraft server. Sure, it'd be nice to have a staff member with prior experience, but, of course, we shouldn't be expecting much especially with the current population of mostly young, inexperienced (in moderation) teenagers. If we solely promoted based off prior experience, the staff team would be depleted and unable to do their best work.
I wasn't saying they needed prior experience but that they need more training when when joining the team but now I realise you get a mentor and more might happen but I don't know how the system really works so tbh I can't really argue against it.
It's funny how you say it's easy to get helper and Stellarite was saying on her resignation address to the community that it's really hard.
