little poem I made // what a world

what a world

what a world we live in
where we can't be safe
around younger children
or have good faith

and after one in a million
one kid is smiling
and the rest are broke

too high off of pills
and pounds of dope

living life like an alien
unknown places to go
you can't leave the broken walls
and if your money is low, you'll never know

and maybe if we stop protesting
stop complaining
stop creating
more problems and more stuff to have
live life as simple as our ancestors had

when nothing inside mattered
and the outside ready to explore
no more seclusion
no more empty doors

cause now we care so much
and do too much
and create a fuss
against others and within us

and we fight for rights that we shouldn't have to fight for
when everyone in the world should have rights whether you're rich or poor

and we go against others
for minor differences
it's all about if you pass and succeed
and not so much about who you spend your days with

we make it okay but it's not
we try to keep going
when we know we should stop
we argue over things that shouldn't even matter
because to get where you are
we have to climb the same ladder

does it matter if you change?
do you think anyone cares?
when you sit on the bus without giving a person a glare

hey, they're odd
lets go and attack
but don't you get what things we lack?

we lack an understanding
of what is okay
we laugh at others based on things like being gay
and I'm tired of living in a world full of broken dreams
where the rich will prosper
and people like us are subjected to superficial things

when you get married
you have to buy her that ring
and you're told that if you don't
that a marriage means nothing

but why?
why do we have to buy her that ring?
why not show her compassion
cause with things like rings
the only thing meant to be
is all your money going to the industry

do you confess your love with cash or good morals?
does thinking like this defeat the purpose of being normal?

I'm just tired of the things that people seem to miss
that society is the one giving you the list

how to talk, how to breathe
how to walk, how to sing
so just stop listening
to what others think

in an empty field
be the only tree

blossom and grow
and live with glee

cause in a world filled with violence and hate
there's no time to be ugly​
