If you want stuff that fucks with your mind, go watch Death Parade or Black Butler. You have to be in the right mindset for Death Parade or you might not like it. Definitely helped me think about worlds where I'm already dead. Your Lie in April is really good too if you like anime about music and romance. I'll put more in the spoiler tag; these three are some that I recommend the most. The below are the ones that I have watched and personally really liked. I have not watched a lot of anime recently because 2016 didn't really have many excellent and phenomenal ones, except Re: Zero, My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100 (still didn't watch). All of these are relatively short lasting around 13 or 26 episodes. Not really looking forward to many Winter 2017 anime either. Spoiler: Anime Kill la Kill (you watched Highschool DxD, you should be fine) Irregular at Magic High School One Punch Man No Game No Life KonoSuba New Game! Ouran High School Host Club (old anime, great watch) WataMote (you'll either like it or think it's the cringiest shit ever) In terms of films, go watch Your Name. or Grave of the Fireflies.
Disregard every recommendation you see here except mine bcus im cool lol. It's all entry tier weeb trash anyways!! Listen to me. Do want a riveting action tale of the true meaning of family and friendship? Do you want to die laughing at the greatest comedy written that side of the hemisphere? Do you want to see a character grow and change live never before? Watch Himouto Umaru chan. It looks like moeshit but listen its really good and ive been watching anime for 97 years I know my shit do NOT watch anything until you watched-- no-- fully experienced the viewing PLEASURE that is Umaru.
I honestly think that I lost a few braincells watching that anime. Umaru made me realize that there will most likely never be an annoying cunt like her. I like her school side, not the ONII-CHAN BUY ME A GAME SIDE. btw the brother is pretty dumb buying her everything like show some authority smh (it's my opinion don't hunt me down please)
MY RECOMMENDATIONS -SWORD ART ONLINE (7/10) Based around characters who get stuck in a game (MMORPG) -DEATH NOTE (8/10) The gods of death drop a book called the "Death Note" which has the power to kill people by writing their name -MIRAI NIKKI (8/10) A game we're each player has a way to tell the future and the last one alive at the end, wins. -TOKYO GHOUL (9/10) Humans vs Ghouls pretty much. A ghoul is basically a vampire to some extent. -HUNTER X HUNTER (7/10) A boy takes the hunter exam in order to become a hunter and find his father Before people get TRIGGERED, I made REALLY basic summaries of each one so that ANYONE could understand them.
yoooooo been hyping for this for a long time also masamune-kun no revenge but konosuba is more important
tbh so far Sousei no Onmyouji is absolutely amazing. it's still airing but so far it made me cry to much I can't even talk about it. Thinking about that once scene keeps bringing tears in my eyes. Genres: - Action - Supernatural - Fantasy - Shounen - Romance (Lowkey)
final fantasy xv brotherhood. It's only 5 episodes long, but it's nice to watch when bored. It's based on a game. The 1st and 5th episode is action themed, but the rest are just the backstories of the main characters friends. If you wanna watch something quick, I recommend this then. It was the only anime I watched lol
I am truly disappointed that noone said Bleach (4 films around 300 eps and 700 manga chapters) Toshiro with his dank Daiguren Hyorinmaru is danker than spicy memes also Byakuya's senbonzakura kageyoshi is the manliest bankai
It's not really an anime but RWBY. The story's alright, the characters are pretty original, and the fight scenes are choreographed incredibly, definitely my pack for an action and adventure fantasy.
@Lapsy The common thread I'm seeing between most of your animes is action with some fantasy/surrealism. The following animes have already been suggested in this thread once or twice, but I'm gonna list them anyway because I have watched them in full and I really think they fit the bill. - Noragami -- Shorter and more comical than the others below. While not as action packed, the character development is great and the action that does happen is balanced (kickass, but not overdone). P.S. my profile picture is from that show. - Akame Ga Kill! -- The creators are not afraid to kill off characters. A very good, raw look at resistance in an empire that reeks of corruption. - Code Geass -- Hands-down THE best anime I've ever watched, a masterpiece IMHO; tells the story of a strategic genius who manipulates a rebellion and keeps the suspense while touching on some powerful themes. Also gonna throw in No Game No Life because Jibril is my waifu and @therunandgo wouldn't have it any other way.
