Okay, I am capable of making skins, and I am trying to decide what the skins in the fork of the Minetest game Heybye and I are working on should look like. We want them to be a cross between ROBLOX and Minecraft so we created beveled looking, Hi-res, skins like my avatar. I like that because it allows for more customization, it looks unique and would look great in game. However, with a lot of people on a server, it could lag up, these are hard to make and aren't supported in MC. The other side is a more MC like texture, blocky to fit the voxel world around it. It still has uniqueness in the eyes and bevel look that MC doesn't have, but is limited to a low resolution. These work in MC Shown in attachment Which one do you prefer?
By the way, does anybody know where you can view high resolution skins? Novaskin and other usual ones don't work...
I like the high-res one better since the low-res one is pretty much going to be the same as Minecraft
Loooooooow res. I think you should stick to minecraft, and it's originality, rather then trying to 'improve' on something, that simply, doesn't need improving. My skin is a skin, that looks like I just went on paint ;) but I love it just the same.
That skin style actually isn't supposed to be an improvement of a Minecraft skin. It's a design Heybye44 and I have been designing since summer. Lol, you should see our original model design in Google's Sketch up program. I thought our design was original :( Luckily, you will be able to use both in-game, including all types, like Joey suggested, unlike Minecraft ¶:«
