    Hey guys,

I know J&H only accepts Helper applications now but they used to accept Moderator applications. However, I don't know the difference between Helper and Moderator. Can someone tell me?

    Thanks,
    Creeper In HD

Helper is a lower rank more directed towards watching chat and doing smaller reports with less commands. Moderator has more commands and focuses on bigger threats such as hackers etc. I'm sure an actual staff member could explain it better than I did but I generalized it for you.

    Sort of.
One thing that should be noted is that each server's helper rank functions difrently,
some with more or less power then others. So what you see here, could be toatly diffrent from another server.
In genral most servers use the helper rank as an entrie level rank. Its made to see how they act as staff, without risking abuse of the [mod] rank. This is why you dont apply for mod, as helper is the entry position. You dont start in the middle, you start from the begining.

Also both ranks should be watching chat, but mods also have to deal with gameplay problems, so helpers can work on chat stuff, thats why helpers do chat reports.

Helpers and Moderators are basically the same thing.
A helper is a moderator, of the chat. A helper solves reports on the forums, teamspeak, and the server.
A moderator, is also a moderator of the chat. Though, moderators have higher abilities such as seeing messages, etc.
Moderators also solve reports on forums, teamspeak, and the server.

Easy, helpers are lazier than most moderators.

Moderators can preform more things than helpers. .

    Helper is like a test.

If your an amazing helper and you do what your asked to do, keep order. Well your accepted to be promoted to a mod, a more trusted more hard member of the staff team.

Helper is a trainee rank where a person can prove themself worthy by monitoring the chat, solving minor issues and helping moderators and admins by forwarding the important reports and troublemakers.

Helper rank is a valuable staff position because it is shaping our new staff members to become good moderators.

    Question has been answered.
