Hey! Thanks for clicking on this thread! I mainly wanted to make this thread to point out the different types of players we experience and what we can do to make ourselves the greater person in any situation.

    What's happening?

So in every situation, we will have the right from the wrong, and the different types of players can change our outlook on certain communities. Of course, while we will never be free of the troll, the trash talker, or the thug, we can always reform our enemies to be our friends.

    The Average Gamer

So your average Minecrafter who enjoys playing a game isn't really much to be worried about. We would all want to be your average Minecraft player, who mainly performs the way servers were built. To enjoy the game, and have fun. We all have our wins, our loses, and our failures, but in the end, nothing should matter unless you had fun playing!

    The "thug life" PvPer

Honestly, this is very common. Some people take games too seriously sometimes, and they may use their skills at certain games to boost their reputation or use derogatory terms to bash or belittle a player who may not have as much skill as them. The term 'salty' exists a lot on most PvP servers. Most players may throw certain lines of chat to express their self-esteem or boast about their skill to boost their reputation or make another member feel disturbed that they are not as high in skill as that player. These players tend to have a way of upsetting the victim without breaking any server rules. The gang mentality of most PvP servers displays an unwelcoming community that most players would not like to take part in.

While Minecraft will never be free of the thug or the troll, we can all understand that we are the better person in each situation. While we may have lost the game, admitting that it was a good one and that you had fun shows that you are playing correctly. It doesn't matter if anyone is better than you, it's just the fact that you had fun is all that matters. There's nothing bad ass about a game about squares anyway.

If a player decides to gloat or belittle you, just know that their self-esteem may be dwindling and they are thinking that they are better than they really are. The strong can forgive, the wise forget, but the weak fight back. Don't feed the troll. If you are wise, ignore them. If you are strong, reach out to them. Sometimes you may be able to save someone from the dark path of a troll.

    The Troll

Oh yes, here we are. The bane of most people's Minecraft existence. Trolls are everywhere. By Trolls, I mean anyone who purely exists on a server to deliberately provoke members via chat or game play. Why are these trolls so common? It's because of the unbelievable support they have. Most trolls may have a certain social outlet that they are popular in. Because of this, they are given far too much positive feedback. A troll is most likely insecure within themselves. They prefer to feed on the negative energy of others to reassure themselves that they aren't alone in their low profile of a life.

We can never abolish trolling, as it will always be present. We can never rebel against it with a loud enough voice, but we can avoid it where possible. When a troll attempts to get under your skin, don't let them. They do not deserve the attention, and feeding them with your reactions will not hurt them, it will only strengthen them. In this modern age, we don't know who has a camera, who is recording, and who is very popular on social outlets. While it may not be your fault for being the victim of a troll, don't feed a troll, as they will only continue in their ways.

If you see anyone who has fallen victim to online trolling, you may presume they may not want to remember it. We are not all strong, and if this person in particular is a victim, there is little harm done in reaching out to them. Showing someone that there is someone else out there that understands and is willing to help may go a long way. I'm not asking you all to be goodie-goodies, but we're all human and we should respect one another.

    The Hacker

Sometimes we see players doing impossible things, using hack clients to their advantage. This player could be defined as a troll, but it is simply an annoyance that causes a lot of trouble. Sometimes we may be doing very well in a game only to be ruined by a player using a hack client. We may sometimes feel upset, unfairly matched, or that the member is simply not being fair with their game.

Before you decide to rant and rage at them, know that these players did not deserve what they have. Their win is obviously not legit, and no matter how they may sugarcoat it, using a hack client is in no way tolerated. Instead of raging at them or insulting them, let a staff member know and have the accused player punished rather than giving the player the reactions they are looking for. You've done nothing wrong in reporting a player. You've helped the community one step closer to a cleaner game play environment!

In conclusion, Minecraft will never be free from the troll, the thug, or the hacker, but we can always find the better in each solution. We can always learn to avoid and ignore, and we can right wrongs where we see it.

But anyway, thanks for reading again, and have a great day/night.

Out of all threads ive seen that addresses these, I think this one is the most informative and well-written. Where there are Bad MC players, like the ones you mentioned, there are also Good Players as well, Such as the Builder, the Roleplayer (Not the bad kind) the Youtuber (Im talking about most of the Ones who deserve the fan following such as people like CavemanFilms and CaptainSparklez) and the Artist (Like me. xD)

To Every Yin there is a Yang, For everything bad there is a Good, it's like a Constant battle between the forces of Good and the forces of evil, But in the Long run, The good always wins.

I always try and make Minecraft for younger players as fun and as enjoyable as possible. Like Drawing things and showing my creativity to inspire others to do what they want to do in the game. It's been one of my biggest callings for a career, to Entertain others.

Well at least I can get away from the thug and hacker in OITC. I basically shoot anybody who comes in a 50 block radius of me. I've beaten hackers that way.
But anyways, most of these are negative. The only positive one is average when in reality there are very good helpers, builders, creators, and reformers. The negative is about summed up, but give some credit to the positive.

Don't forget the players who advertise their own servers. That's fun to deal with.
