Hey guys, seeing that there are many TF2 players in this community that don't look as good as they want, I'm making a small Tips & Tricks thread to help you guys out with making fast, easy profits! So, let's begin!

    1: Behavior

As a merchant, you need to appeal to the majority, and no way is better than adjusting your behavior! What I mean by this is that you want to be amiable and friendly, but when the person is trying to scam and trick you, You become assertive(Notice how I said assertive, not aggressive!), where you simply say, "No, your vintage Equalizer is not worth my Conga Taunt". You do not flame them or insult them, because that can send a bad rep and you will loose a lot of clientel! Behavior is how the public sees you, and no one is going to want to buy from some angry dude who rages when a deal isn't fair.

    2: Use backpack.tf!

Backpack.tf is a widely accepted TF2 item pricings website, and everyone bases prices off of it! You can find any item(Except fabricators, Spec & proff KS's) on the listings! Just hover your mouse on "Trading" around the top of the page and click "Pricelist" there you can search the items and their prices! Even better, go back to the trading tab and click "Backpack Calculator" It's where you can take an item, and calculate it's price with paint and other items!

3: Learning how to use opportunities!

As a TF2 Trader, you need to understand that there are thousands of people just like you, and most of them will take any opportunity they can see. Let's say you're selling a strange worth 10 ref, and someone sent you the trade, you need to adapt to the following situations
    • Buyer gives pure
    • Buyer pays price in items
    • Buyer overpays in items
    • Buyer overpays in pure
The following are great opportunities as a trader, becayse lets say you are payed in hats, you can either be satisfied with the cosmetics or sell them for pure, still getting the money you originally wanted. Even better, Item overpay. Where if you sell the items, you'd get more ref than you intended to get(which is always a good thing).

But also as a Trader, you need to adapt to bad situations, like these
    • Buying takes too long
    • Buyer tries to pay in unique weps or crates
    • Buyer is just trying to be a scammer and trick you
In these situations, don't be afraid to back out, there are plenty more people willing to buy your items! Really learning this skill makes you or breaks you, and is the bread and butter for any merchant anywhere!

    5: The mic

Voice chat is one of the most useful things a merchant can use, sending a message that may take a minute to type in seconds! Make sure to practice what you're going to say first, though, as you dont want to hog the mic from other traders! It is also important to mute mic spammers, and not aggrivate them. And when another merchant is being rude on the mic, dont even join in on the arguement, you dont want to be seen as some douche on the mic, as people pay more attention to the voices talking than the chat itself!

(Still more to be typed :<)

i don't play this game anymore yet i'm still here why do you ask, i don't know either
1 tip from me as well:
If you have a high backpack value, like let's say 1.4 buds.
You are more likely to have a phisher add you than a person with a backpack value of 1 refined.
