i've been using the Logitech G502 mouse for Osu. I have a XP-Pen Star G430 graphics tablet, but I'm not really good at using tablets. I heard tablets are better for jumps and stuff like that Should I just train myself to use my tablet? Or should I just keep playing with my mouse?
Get used to the tablet and see if you like playing with it (use it for about 2 weeks or so). If you still don't like it by then, maybe tablet's not for you. It's personal preference after all.
Using a tablet really helped me when I actively played the game. Considering that you'll need relatively high in-game sense and/or dpi to make good jumps consistently if you use a mouse. Unless you're really good with making small movements, you'll have a hard time. Having a graphics tablet allows for more room for error. Since you already have one, why not give it a try? It really improved my accuracy and aim big time. If you really want to practice using a tablet, I suggest jump maps, or DT TV length ones with lots of jumps. In the end, with some practice, it allowed me to get an average of 99+% accuracy on most maps within my skill range, even on longer maps.
I improved my performance after getting a tablet, but you can also play with a light weight mouse. I can recommend mouse users with a glorious model o/d as they are very light and smooth.
The game itself is easier with a tablet, but that's not to say you can't be good with a mouse. I would recommend tablet, mainly due to how much easier it is to play with one after you get used to it.
I only found using the tablet easier to make certain jumps and whatnot. My tablet is quite sensitive and every slight movement of mine can cause it to go way off of the circle I was trying to click which irritated me after a short amount of time. I then went back to a mouse and I've stuck with that ever since. I personally believe that using a mouse takes more time to practice and master vs. using a tablet, but again, it depends on how much you play the game and how much energy you're willing to put into practicing.
