That title. Not a review, a summary of it. The game Kid Icarus: Uprising is the sequel to the original Kid Icarus for the NES or Nintendo Entertainment System and has 25 different long and challenging chapters/levels with lots of humor and personality, with a few hidden secrets which are both dialogue and gameplay. Each chapter has its own boss, so don't think one level won't. This game was made for the 3DS. Pit finally doesn't have just the one bow he had before and has a huge variety of weapons including the Palutena Bow, which he used in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and is the hardest weapon to get. It's also the most rare to forge and the strongest in the game, though it's weapon type not being the strongest. There are 9 different types of weapons; Bow, Club, Arm, Cannon, Palm, Orbitors, Blade, Claws, and the Staff, each unique for its own pros and cons which we will get into later. The story is about Pit, who is based of of Icarus from Greek Mythology. In fact, most of everything here is based off of Greek Mythology! That doesn't mean you can play this game and get info about Greek mythology though. Icarus was the child who tried to fly with clay wings. When he got close to the sun, his wings burned up. In spite of that, Nintendo gave Pit the power of flight but for only 5 minutes at a time. But who's forging the weapons and having Pit fly? Lady Palutena. The goddess of light. She's a real monster and a kind person. In the original game, you had to save her from Medusa. In this game, you're not saving her this time, you're saving everyone else from Medusa who has been resurrected after 25 years. The game was actually made 25 years after the original with 25 chapters. That's some creativity there Nintendo. Medusa however isn't what she seems. When you get into her castle at the 9th chapter, Lady Palutena asks her how she even got resurrected in the first place. Her reply quote on quote: "I don't know what happened. My memories aren't what they used to be!" This gives a hint for when you defeat her for the second time. And when you do... Hades shows up! Yep, the god of the Underworld and he's pulling the strings now. His plan is to rid of Palutena's Army and the humans. He goes after the Wish Seed which is a fake. You destroy the Pheonix and the Wish Seed and the humans go wild since when the Pheonix is defeated, it has a beacon show up that shows it's defeated. Not dead, defeated, since it can revive itself. So you try to calm mankind when a bomb comes down. More specifically, a Reset Bomb, dropped by Viridi, goddess of nature. She's trying to wipe out humanity and you have to take out her commanders. Next enemy: The Aurum. You get info on what they are from Pyhrron, the Sun God! Quote on quote: "They're the Aurum. Beckoned by destruction and corruption, the Aurum are created and destroyed out of nothing." This means they came by the war between Viridi, Hades, and Palutena. The 3 of you have to start working together to defend the Earth. After that you get back into destroying Hades. Or do you? You've been turned into a ring, A.K.A the Ring Of Chaos, and your body is destroying a town with Palutena's Army. Magnus, a buddy you met in the 2nd chapter says "Your army is out to destroy mankind. Did your goddess just lose her mind?" And you take over Magnus since he puts on the ring like an idiot. Magnus is quite powerful, think of him as a superhuman who can defeat a lot of things. He also has a dramatic backstory which I won't get into. Once you learned that the Chaos Kin has taken over Palutena and made her evil, you can't fly anymore. Who'll pull your strings now? Viridi. Yep, the goddess who made have to destroy her forces. Now you have to go and rescue Palutena. Once you do, the Chaos Kin will go into a vortex and Dark Pit, who you found in the 5th chapter and was first your enemy, will open the vortex completely. You go into the vortex after Viridi says that you want to save your game and fight 13 waves of monsters. The 9th wave and higher you are accompanied by Dark Pit. Pit's wings burn up after trying to save Dark Pit after the Chaos Kin tries to get him as revenge, and you take control of Dark Pit now. Dark Pit controls the same, but because he stole Pandora's power, he can fly infinitely. You have to reach the Rewind Spring in order to get Pit back to normal. Once you reach there, you have to fight Pandora, but once you damage her enough, she'll drop into the Rewind Spring and turn into...Amazon Pandora. She's a real beast, and when Hades finds you, he asks who is this girl? And once he knows he asks how she got so anime...yep. Told you this game had humor. Still, she's got a sword, bombs, the usual. Once you've done that, you regain control of Pit and go off to fight Hades with the Three Sacred Treasure. Hades breaks the Three Sacred Treasure and swallows you. You have to destroy his heart, get out of his body since Dark Pit saves you afterwards and go to Dyntos, the god of forge, and get a new Three Sacred Treasures. You have to do 3 trials in order to get them, and they're by facing 5 bosses. 3 you've faced before, 2 new ones, and the final one is the Sacred Treasure, which is SO EPIC. It's a "Far cry from the Treasures of old eh?" said Dyntos. Once you do that, you go off to square against Hades. I've spoiled the game too much, so why don't you go play it yourself? Thanks for reading my first game review, sorry if it was bad.
This wasn't a game review, this was a summary of the plot XD Kidding, I still love the game It is pretty epic
