Imagine voice messaging..

You join the server and you hear "blablablablablablablablablabla, joinn my server blablabla..."
That would be very annoying in the lobby xD

The annoyance would be so high, that people will quit the server of being annoyed by the annoying voices and then the people who never got annoyed of being well known of the annoying person that he'll quit of being annoyed by nobody there and the server will shut down.

I mean like nearby players will be able to hear and you will be able to hear them, but only nearby players

It would actually be pretty sick if Mojang actually did that, coversations with your friends in-game... c:
You could mute players or simply go into your mc options and turn off mic sounds
