Another staff member couldn't have said it better themselves, thank you. "Most staff members are mostly active" lol
@Heatdude Is the only Mod worth a damn on this server. All the others are ass. We do however got good helpers.
Then promote more staff. As simple as it can be. Also, I fucking love you, OP. Get a follow. (double post, idc, merge it if you feel like it.) It's all those problems with staff that make the people complain about the server. And if so many people complain about the server, there is a problem. Why don't you actually listen and consider what they say instead of being selfish and defending yourself, only to feel good about yourself. Your server is dying, make something about it! I could continue to go on, but I already made a whole thread about communication between the administration and the community of this server. Make something out of it. We are speaking our mind. Suggesting fixes. At least consider some! It feels like we're talking to a wall. This kind of shit makes me want to leave the server. Sorry if this comes off as rude, I'm just stating my real opinion.
I did say that some cases we have a lack of staff. And as @Cingle said upper management will be working on it. Reporting people will also help us catch the extra hackers we might of missed. -- Also a little bit of advice to everyone: Some of the language in this thread is not a good way to present your argument. You can criticize the staff team with out being overly rude or using excessive amounts of profanity. In fact I, and Im sure other staff members are as well, will be more inclined to listen to a well thought out, well executed, and respectful argument. That does not mean you cant be frustrated, that does not mean you have to bow down and kiss the ground we walk on, but what it does mean is that it shows maturity, and you might be surprised what might happen. I think Ive used the example before, but Ill use it again. One of these days we will all have to get a job. if not maybe you have one. If you have an issue with your boss you can storm into his office and tell him how much he sucks, how he does his job half way, and cuss him out. That gets you a one way ticket to unemployment. However if you approach your boss and say "hey, Ive noticed a few problems, here is what I noticed, and here is what I suggest". That is far more likely to get you somewhere. Trust me the easy way to do things is to vent and rant and complain. but it does not resolve anything.
Referring to your example as this situation to a job, in my opinion, would not be the best example. Especially with some of the kids that are on here, they can probably care less about a job or just have their mind on something else. Also, what would you expect from kids at the age of twelve or below that play Minecraft? Some people feel the need to make it a much bigger deal than it really is and that's alright because they're stating their opinion. But honestly though, I don't want to see this thread turn into something ugly so maybe the staff team could come to an agreement with the community. Rather than arguing and bashing each other about what he did right and what she did wrong, it would be smarter to just come together to create a solution to this problem. Sometimes things get out of hand but we can bring it all back together if we just take a minute to breathe. Also, for everyone that is putting the staff down drastically, that is not needed at all. We still need to respect them because they did earn the position they are at now. Stuff like this happens with other communities as well and it can be solved fairly easily so don't fret.
I really didn't want to reply to this thread again, but after @Yommii 's post, I felt like I needed to. This is basically about inactive staff. Two the two posts I quote below, I respectfully disagree. Most of what I say was based on my observations when I was staff, and can be incorrect now (though the same management exists so maybe not too much) Yes, you're right that 30 is better than nothing and that demotions won't help the cause at the time. However, I'm going to use an example of another server I was staff on for a short time called Omega. On that server, they have a helper rank (basically a trial rank) basically before you're promoted to junior mod (I'm not saying at all that this server needs that). In the month you're helper, you establish yourself as someone who can be fit for junior mod or someone that is not good enough and is removed from the staff team. Also, on Omega, the admins and senior mods monitor everyone's activity so there are no slackers who just do one report a day to make it seem like their active. Here, we have people promoted to helper, and those people can become space wasters. Even people who are promoted to mod can be space wasters, and I'm going to point out WuskyWolf (took literally 6+ months for his obvious inactivity to demote him. I have nothing against him at all.). Space wasters are inactive staff or are people who do few reports to make it seem like they are active when they really don't do much help for the server. This person can even be a really nice staff member that really cares about the server while they just have no ability to help. They may come on the server a lot but still don't do anything . This server takes forever to get rid of those space wasters as we have seen in the past and present. Yes, those people deserve to be talked to before they waste space, but STILL, it takes high staff forever to talk to those people about increasing their workload. They barely ever become active again. They make the server's staff look bad because they are a partial reason all these threads are appearing. Now going back to @Smogg 's and @MC_Scout 's points. Not demoting inactive staff members creates a bad example for other staff. It basically shows others that they can get away with minimal activity. In my opinion, it's better to get rid of the toxic work habits of some staff members than have their 30 bans/warns a month. If someone's just not good enough, just talk to them and give them once more chance before you get rid of them. Not months and months and months. Then you get a replacement. What can the server do to help this? Like @Yommii said, there needs to be better at watching staff and their activity (from higherups). People here aren't afraid of being demoted here because they know they can get away with minimal activity. It's not a bad thing that people have a good relationship with high staff because hell, they're cool and relatable guys. The issue is not the personalities of high staff, it's the actions that cause there to be no fear of demotion. And no, it's not good for people to be too afraid of demotion like on servers like Omega (maybe that's not the case, but that's what i felt after reading all the guidelines there). There's a middle ground that this server is far from, and it's affecting the staff efficiency way too much. There's a need for change if the higher ups want the best work from the staff team.
