Anvil Glitch

Description of Bug/Glitch: When I try to repair a tool using the anvil, instead of fixing my tool, it takes away my levels and gives back my tools which are not fixed. It's really annoying... :I

As you see at my experience bar, I started with 60 levels.


The enchantment costs 28 levels.


At the bottom, it took away 28 of my levels, leaving 32 levels. The axes were still not fixed.


I'm left with 32 levels and 2 unfixed axes...

Pls help me...

 

Oh yeah and it doesn't matter which anvil I use; a broken one or a new one, it still does the exact same thing.

Let me try and explain actually.

In 1.8, levels needed to change/enchant items in anvils are lower than in 1.7. The server is still technically a 1.7 server that is compatible with 1.8, so the levels you see are lower than the levels you actually need. Easy fix: use 1.7 instead of 1.8 or gather more exp than usual. However, some enchant combinations aren't even possible in 1.7 that were made possible in 1.8, so it's better just to change to 1.7 to see if you have enough to or if it's even possible.
