I suggest getting an orange tip... When I was playing Airsoft, they took off my orange tip so I can camouflage more. I had no choice in the matter. My cousins house, where we were airsofting at, Has a lot of woods, so it's great. Anyway his neighbor saw us from his farmland with all of our Camo, and of course without orange tips. He brought his Firearm Pistol and confronted us, and of course his hand was on the Pistol the entire time talking to us, when the other team didn't realize we were talking to the person, they started firing, prompting the neighbor to pull the gun on us. Finally we managed to get the other team to stop firing, and we were able to show the neighbor how they were Pellet guns, and not real guns. I really wish the guy just called the Police instead of doing it himself, it t'was scary, lol. I suggest getting an orange tip before airsofting. We're lucky he didn't shoot us. I think the circumstances of me being younger than all of the teens playing, and the fact that we had all of our gear on made it seem even more like we were playing a game. Even then we haven't airsofted since.
In the magical land of Kangaroos and Koalas, I'm pretty sure it's against the law to take off the orange tip. Some people have robbed service stations with toy guns without orange tips.
You're right, it probably is illegal, I was about 10 tears old then, and I was playing with my brothers friends, which were teenagers. So I unfortunately believed them saying that it was okay.
