I think making a living on gaming should be a hobby, and not a life choice. Honestly, it should be a last resort if someone didn't succeed in life.

If you have humor, or have very interesting things that most people on the youtube audience will like, then you will do pretty well. But if you are one of those 12 year old minecraft LETS PLAYS, for good god's sakes, i truly think they are DAMN FKING ANNOYING. Theres MORE THAN ENOUGH kids on youtube, even though it's rated 18+ to have a channel or account, and honestly, I am not angry at the kids for having faith in themselves in trying to become famous or anything, or just having fun, but honestly they should be focusing on homework than video games. Trust me. I used to have VERY bad grades when I was focusing on gaming, but after taking after school lessons and just playing games for about 2 hours a day, my grades are on average A-. Or at least, the IMPORTANT ones. *I suck at English, foreigner ftw <3

Now just because my grades improved after I tried focusing on LIFE, doesn't mean everyone else's will. And yes, I myself, am a 12 year old. But i'm not going to throw my time and lifeline away on trying to be funny, making poop jokes, and making videos on the internet. I do indeed have youtube channels, but I don't focus on them. I just post videos as memos, funny moments, just because they're for my friends to watch. And public people, if they wanted, too.

Coincedentally, many people get famous FOR making fun of kids on the internet.....Which I'm personally fine with, truth be told, and really the reason why is because MANY MANY MANYYYYYY kids on the internet are either....
    -Spoiled
    -Stupid
-Trying to act like an adult
    -Just acting plain stupid

Now, we've all heard of little kids raging on COD right? Yes, I am a little disappointed for grown men to make fun of kids who are innocent on those servers, but those kids who just blart any bad words they know are truly, fking.....meh. no like. ok.

Anyways, besides kids on the interwebbers, what happens if your power goes out? What if your computer breaks? How will you make money then? Honestly, there are SO MANY smart people out there that just focus on EASY things...Even though they ARE capable of amazing things, great things! They just need to work harder.

Let me tell you a story of a friend.
In high school, he always talked to others in class. He always procrastinated, and never did his work. He just played video games. And streamed.
He got held back for a year after the Diplohma tesst.

He said he didn't like his life.
He got tired of working at Subway Sandwiches.
He got tired of working at junkwards, and mosquito killers.
    He didn't like his life.
    Rubbish.

But he then, the next year in high school, he worked hard. He never talked to his friends, and only did that after school.
    He successsfully passsed the diploma.

He is now a Math Professor in Oregon state University..
I hope that teaches you all something. Never give up.

The amount of truth in this is astounding.
I'm thinking of taking a long term break from mc, so my grades catch up to what they used to be lol.

    Yes, so much yes.

However, you do not need to do away with your hobbies so quickly to improve on school. What you (and these pre adolescent gamers) need is good time management. You shouldn't throw away or "take a break" from the things you like, even if it makes you seem "mature", just name your time.

This is pretty close to what I was doing, only one difference.
I still play games but when there's a test I study, on Sunday I do homework and even work ahead. You don't have to get take a break. I'm getting B's. (From 1-10 All I'm gettin is 8+ I think those are B's.) I also am 4 weeks ahead with homework. But, I guess taking a break to spend MORE time is your decision. :P
As long as you reward yourself with some game time. ;)

When I was in school I never focused on homeworks and just improvised in class. Even on the exam days, the only times I was studying was the day/night before...

Still only got A's and B's.

But I get your point, even though focusing on life and being concerned about how your life is gonna be like, as a 12 year is a bit much in my opinion.

Also it's not the games fault that people don't get good grades. It's the people themself. Just make a system where you do your homeworks before playing games ^^

The basic thing I was trying to prove:
Don't waste your time on videogames, study, do homework, and improve if you need to.

If you are already doing well, keep doing well, and hopefully do even better. In the future there won't be a lot of time for videogames, and that period of time in the future will be so important, trust me.

I REALLY want to be a YouTuber someday(not a gaming one, the sketch comedy/tags one that I like), but I don't want it to be my whole life/job. It would just be something fun to do, that I could possibly earn money from.

YouTube shouldn't blind people from life, like, seriously...

I'll put the same answer for a debate I did on smartphone integration into schools.

Kids must first understand that it's their responsibility to keep their marks up in school before they can truly use their electronics freely.

This thread speaks the truth, Life comes first before video games, i am a senior in high school and i still play video games. I regulate my time for when I play MC or do homework. I also have a job irl so it explains why i get off my pc at 8pm cause i need to get my rest cause i have to be out of bed by 5:30 AM

Kids on youtube that are trying to be famous is not really a problem if they do it in moderation, lots of kids want to be like the big famous youtubers like markiplier and captainsparklez cause it inspires them to do stuff like they do. but when they do Lets plays so much that it basically becomes there everyday life then we got a problem. Video games are meant to be a past time not your life. its not the video games fault that makes these 12 year old kids the way they are, its there own personal decision to choose the way they want to be.

You cant change these people lidia, they are in control of themselves so they have to make there own choices if they want to stop or not,
All you can do is have pity on them as they are only hurting themselves.
