Why

In the past few days I've been seriously depressed.
Why? Because I was thinking to myself, what's the point in life?

NO. This is NOT an attention seeking thread. Don't jump to conclusions before reading the whole post. Thank you.

Everyday we wake up, go to school, come back home, go to sleep, wake up, go to school, come back home, go to sleep etc etc.

It's like a never ending wheel.

After you finish school, in my case, you go to the military. Which is basically the same, you wake up, do drills, go back to sleep, wake up, do drills, go back to sleep and again.

After military ends, you go to university. And after that, work. And you continue all of this neverending wheel until you die.

My question is, and it has been bothering me for a while now, what's the point? Nothing happens in our lives. It almost seems like the only thing humans do is the same. Everyday we do the same thing. Everyday same dream (see what I did there? Ah nevermind).

Someone help me because I'm about to go insane.

Please don't reply with idiotic replies like "the meaning of life is potato" because these replies are going to be reported as off topic replies.

I asked this exact same question a while ago...
I even had thoughts of killing myself.
but I didn't !
think of the good things and the achievements.
one day you might meet vandetta or you will make a video that goes extremely viral.
One day you will marry a great guy.
One day you will look back at the great memories and share it with your children.
One day you can help your kids cosplay.
One day....
you will look back at this and be happy that you think differently now.
Make the best out of everthing , don't ever give up!

Everyone goes through this.
I did the exact same thing, like you said the repeating cycle.
I got really depressed.

Life is what you make it.

Don't like doing the same thing over and over? Change something, however big or small.
Take yourself somewhere. Start some kind of project. Listen/watch something completely new.

 

The meaning in life (i think) is having fun, making friends, do great things in life and more! You never know what will happen the next day, maybe you will see something awesome or do something you like orhave fun with your friends and many more!

Here's the thing...

I am NOT going to kill myself and this thread was NOT about my depression.
It's hard to look towards the future when the present is confusing me.

Special and wonderful things can appear in your life every day.
You do things you enjoy doing, you love people, you see things.
I think the point of life is to choose the things you enjoy, and you can enjoy how you want. Live your life in your way, do what you want to.
Explore the world, learn, meet friends. You can do everything ;)
Most of us forum-ers are teenagers, and these are the times we start thinking about our future. And as far as I know you, you will have a bright future.

Ok so what is the meaning of life? Yes a cycle that will end for everyone but try not to think of it like that. Life is whatever you want it to be. You clearly are not doing stuff that you are interested in. Sorry school is compulsory :) but try and enjoy it although it may be hard. Don't over think all the time like I do with boys and what I look like I am very conscious about that. Ok Ok I will get to the point - enjoy, laugh, love and never underestimate yourself ;)

 

This is life:

 

To carve your meaning.

To set on that path.

That is the meaning of life.

Okay, I understand and I'm not saying anything bad about depression and all that but,
if you really have depression then I think you should go to a doctor not a website full of kids.

Just be happy. You're lucky to be a human in the first place. If you were a goat, you would be dead by now. The meaning of life is 42 life itself. Just live life. Once you get out of university, you get a job. You make money doing that job. You get money to buy things. You have other humans in your life. You retire. You spend the last 20 years relaxing and arguing with other old people over the last episode of Law and Order. You are in the prime time of your life. Believe it or not, you're more free than you'll ever be. You'll have actual assignments and longer workdays when you go into actual work.

Daft Punk say it well, "Come on and do it. Now, don't wait and live it. Today. The prime time of your life."

Yes, life may be repetitive.
In particular times, it may be.

But take a look at the big picture that is life.
We're born, we grow up.
We grow up in school, earn friends, lose friends.

We go to college or the military.
May be repetitive there.
But we meet someone.
Someone catches our eyes.
We start talking to them, and soon, we're friends.
And slowly, it becomes more than just friendship.

Sooner than you know, you're saying "I do."
You're having kids.
You're enjoying life, because you have a beautiful husband whom you love, and you have beautiful children whom are your whole life.
Sure, your job is mildly repetitive.
But you love your job.
And every day is a new experience for you.

Soon, your kids are all grown up.
They're going into high school... College... Marrying off faster than you can blink an eye.

Soon, your house is empty.
But you still have your wonderful husband.
You two decide to start mixing it up.
Going on dates, surprising each other.
Each day is a surprise.


I'll leave the rest off.
But honestly, life may be boring during some times, yes.
But think about the large picture.
Life is always changing.
Life is always surprising you.

And ultimately,
life is never, ever repetitive.

 

Vai, i have had days where i felt that their was no point in life, and i do feel the same way that life can be a neverending wheel. sometimes i feel that i would rather not be a Human, But dont let the negative stuff bring you down, cause negativity only brings bad. The meaning of life is what you make of it, Life can be tough but you always come out of it alive and happy. Dont let some a-hole tell you that your stupid or that you have no life or something.

God put you here for a reason Vai, you have a purpose here on Earth and you have the power to make your life worth living. Their are many things you can look forward to in your lifetime, And when you Pass on after living your life, chances are you will get a one way ticket to the Greatest place in the universe, Heaven.

To sum it up Vai, we all have felt the same way before, but you have a place in this world, you just got to look for it. :)
