    Title says it all.

After what seemed like days of fighting the Avatar of the Forgotten King, the group was finally able to defeat it. Several reckless fighters died from daring to take enormous risks so they would be able to get their damage in, like getting very close to the Avatar’s flames to ensure all their shots would hit it, or trying to stay inside the Killer Pillar beams to get a challenge while attacking them. Only a fraction of the group remained because of this.

Upon the Avatar’s death, a dark, ancient portal to the Shatters appeared over the Avatar’s original position. The Shatters was once a powerful kingdom that had control over the entire land, but Oryx, the current evil ruler of the realm, corrupted it with dark magic and caused the kingdom to progressively fall. Eventually, it was separated from the realm into its own place, forgotten and unspoke of. Adventurers who went in would not be seen again, and some rumors say that they end up becoming one of the dark monsters of the Shatters.

A warrior that helped slay the Avatar called out the dungeon, and he was able to get a decently sized group to fight through the dungeon. Even though it was a large group, a few of the adventurers who came seemed to be spotted more easily than the others.

The Rogue was a swift and deadly fighter armed with a dagger, and he bore a magic cloak that could conceal himself for a short time; the Knight was the heavy of the group, and had a significant amount of defense to tank through attacks, as well as a shield to buff his defense even more and stun enemies for a small moment; the Archer was a boy equipped with a powerful Doom Bow that shot very strong arrows slowly, and he wielded a magic quiver that could temporarily paralyze enemies; and the Trickster was a quick, clever fighter who also held a dagger, and she could teleport to a different place nearby and leave a decoy behind that could shortly distract enemies.

Once the group entered the portal, they spawned in the starting room and saw that an eroded statue that seemed to be a switch to suspend the closed bridge. However, there was something very unusual; the Portal of Cowardice used to leave was somehow gone, and no one had the ability to instantly escape to the nexus. The faction was trapped in the dungeon, and they could only fight their way out.
Several people were worried, and they were starting to become afraid of dying.

“Oh boy, this is very bad…” said the archer.

“Well, we have no other choice than to get past this place. We have to keep going on until the very end, even if there are a few deaths.”

The warrior’s words made the group inspired yet worried, and he was able to somewhat convince it to move forward.

So they destroyed the statue with ease, and after it broke the bridge slowly suspended down and led to the abandoned kingdom’s village area. It looked exactly like how the stories said it seemed; a dark, old ghost town that was overrun with corrupted soldiers and mages who were filled with power.

    Wrote some more:

The group observed the area for a moment to think about how they would get past the defenses, and noticed more switches across the village, as well as larger statues that were old and eroded like the switches. These statues seemed to magically spawn stone minions that somewhat resembled a few adventurers, but didn’t seem to have any other effect.

The warrior rallied everyone together to discuss the plan he thought of.

“Since this is a large group, the enemies here are bound to see us. Because of this, we have to get rid of the minions before we focus on the switches, or else the switches would get activated and a few people would get left behind at the next bridge. So, we’ll first get rid of the fire and ice mages since they’re the most dangerous ones here at the moment. Once we kill the mages, we’ll focus on the large titanium statues to stop the stone minions from spawning. After all of the enemies die, then we clear the switches. Understand?”

The team agreed, but upon moving forward they noticed all the enemies were activated and the bridge was slowly closing, with two faint figures standing on the bridge waiting for it to close.

The knight yelled out in anger, “Who are they?!”

“We don’t have much time, so we need to hurry up before it closes!” exclaimed the mystic.

The team rushed towards the bridge, with adrenaline pumping through their veins.

A fire adept came at the group and spawned a fire portal to prevent them from coming through. When it appeared, several blazing tails of flame came out slowly and caused some of group to slow down. However, the mystic was able to temporarily stasis it with her magical orb, and it made the portal stop for a small moment. The team was able to run past it before it activated again.

When they finally reached the bridge, there was barely any part of it left, and it almost completely fell down. A majority of the group was able to get onto the bridge before it completely collapsed.

    “Gah!”

A stone knight came up behind the assassin, necromancer and sorcerer, then temporarily paralyzed them with its force. While they were paralyzed, the minions left behind came towards them to finish the few.

In a desperate attempt, the sorcerer used his Scepter of Fulmination to slow down some of the minions, and he was able to give some time for the few. The assassin also tried to give more time by throwing his bottled poison at the enemies, but only a small bit of them died from it.

By the time they were no longer paralyzed, the entrance portion of the bridge was destroyed and there was no way for the trio to get to the other side.

The necromancer muttered grimly, “This is quite a grave time…”

Another stone knight paralyzed them, and an archmage of flame threw numerous fire bombs at the helpless adventurers. They glowed with a bright red before exploding into a large blaze of flame that consumed the three inside it.
