Helper Hiring: Revolving Door Policy

Put simply, its "Easy hire./Easy fire."

But of course its not -quite- that simple.

Its not like we're going to hire just anyone. Unlike the previous helper rank, this one has /warn, which can be abused, although doing so is unwise since it leaves a trail we can follow and we'll know if you abuse it, and fire you, then undo what you did.

On the same token its not like we're going to fire you on the spot for your first mistake. That would be throwing away perfectly good potential and I'm sure we can all agree that's a bit foolish.

What this -does- mean is that we'll hire -almost- as liberally as we did the previous helper rank.
And fire -almost- as liberally as we did the previous helper rank.

Almost.

On top of this. We reserve the right to, at our discretion, -keep- a helper that we feel is a good helper, and just needs a little on the job training. That said. DO NOT count on this. If we find you abusive or malicious then we may fire you for that alone.

Well said. Of course this is usually the policy when it comes to hiring and firing. Demotion or suspension isnt the first answer, a warning is. It is almost like school in a way, because if a teacher sees a goody two shoes kid mess up one time as hall patrol, shes not going to fire them on the spot, instead just give a warning.

That being said, the policy for hiring staff members whether it be on a video game forum or a job in real life, can be brutal, because the person has the ability to use and sometimes abuse the power that they hold., but once everything is sorted out and a staff member does use their privileges in the right manner, all is calm. Once you know you can trust someone, faith kicks in to hope the person you trust, is trustable.

It made perfect sense, actually. And yes, this is a lot like an IRL job, except its volunteer. So no paycheck. Thats why your staff application is much like a job application or resume at an irl job. Research how your supposed to do those and it might help you understand better how to apply here.

 

Technically, we could use @Xadidax 's thread that you pinned as a reference or ones that have been accepted.

I actually think, that although you used to be an asshole, that you might have a chance. We can all change, can't we? Look at misfit. One day she was reported for hacking, the next, she became a staff member.

 

I remember that whole Silverteeth thing that I might have helped cause. So would this give them another chance if they messed up 'that' bad?
(As in stuff like bullying)
Oh, and, does a staff member get a certain number of chances before they get demoted/suspended?

 

Thank you for clearing this up, but I have one question; I don't know if this was answered already but Does the time/date you posted your application have an impact on whether you get chosen or not? So far it seems people who have been here for a long time are the ones getting chosen (which makes sense)
But would people who applied, say about a month ago, have a chance?

Thanks man. I am wondering the same thing as @mininghicken. There are tons of applications that don't get looked at anymore and just keep piling up at the end. This doesn't seem fair, but I'm sure they are still looked at.

However, this should solve that problem, and should help find gifted helpers with potential. :)

I think so
it is bad for staff to bully on another server because it gives this server a bad image
