    Hello J&H Community!
As is has come up in many situations over the past month or so, many people are being falsely banned for pvp hacking in factions. I am hoping that this post will reduce that number and educate the staff and members of our community.

The first example of big hacking I have is actually on here. Ryfi was banned for hacking, and here is the video of it:

The first evidence starts at 1:15

There is multiple parts of evidence during the video, but the big evidence is at 4:30 - End

The hacks he used was called, "KillAura". I will show some detail on KillAura, then we will go into detail about other hacks.

On September 20th, 2013, MegaSpongebob24, a Gold member on the shotbow network, started a discussion about Kill Aura. I thank him that he described it so perfectly.

    And I quote,

"This hack involves putting an invisible forcefield around the hacking player . . ."

"The player has to actually swing their sword to inflict any damage, but the sword acts like an electric forcefield around the player, meaning he can use his sword and hit someone standing behind him."

"Some players will try to make out they are not hacking by wearing great armour and using a strength pot. This one's quite common. They use a regular forcefield, but because of their strength and enchanted sword, it acts like the first forcefield I mentioned, and insta-kills you. Watch out for this one."

These are the three most important quotes I saw in the article. There are many more things about KA talked about in it.

    Aimbot

The wiki greatly goes into detail about it, and I thank them too for making a page for the soul purpose of informing gamers on this hack.

"An aimbot is a type of computer game bot used in first-person shooter games to provide varying levels of target acquisition assistance to the player. It is sometimes incorporated as a feature of a game (where it is usually called "auto-aim" or "aiming assist"). However, making the aim-bot more powerful in multiplayer games is considered cheating, as it gives the user an advantage over unaided players."

I know there are more hacks. If you know of another hack and can provide a web source, please send a message to my inbox!

How to tell if a video validly shows hacking or not
There are many ways to tell if a video is showing hacks or is showing bogus.

Things to look for and question:
    • Is there around or over 15 raw seconds of hack footage(in action)
    • Has the video been edited? How drastic?
    • Does the reporter state the kind of hack?
    • Does the person who is suspected of hacking fill the actions shown above?

    Kill Aura Source

    Aimbot Source

Identifying source is my own common knowledge. I have tested these hacks via Mineplex before I was banned on here for logging in with the client Idled.

Do not post on this thread unless you are a staff member/have something major to contribute. An example of something major is another documentary on hacking in minecraft, or if you have reviewed the coding of a client, and would provide info about it. If you have info on one hack and would like to have it up for display, send me the info, name of hack, and source in a convo. All posts that do NOT follow said above or are irrelevant shal be reported for deletion. Only staff member and I may post here. Thank you for reading

It's so sad that losers would stoop so low as to use hacks to better themselves in game. What kind of morons are they in real life?

    Gamer slang:
    Hacks = Cheat codes

Also, why aren't staff responding to the reports I am making in this thread. 2 people have already infringed on the disclaimer . . .

Just because you made a disclaimer doesn't mean that people will receive punishment. You can't make your own rules. Same if I made a thread saying people can't post any more threads, if they do I'll report them. You posted this under Server Discussion which means it's a topic that needs discussion.
I know that it can be annoying that people post posts, that doesn't contribute to the subject. You can just ignore the posts that doesn't really help you. And focus on the ones who does.

Also you made this at the time 3 AM for a lot of staff members. Most of use are sleeping there on a Monday.

No offense, but this won't help anyone identify if they are hacking.

Common misconceptions in identifying hacked clients is when people judge the player by how they swing their head. Truth is, it's not how fast their head moves, but WHERE it is looking at.

Commonly the easiest way to identify kill aura users, is when their head is turned up and it does not look like they are actually aiming at you. Sure, his head will turn in an attempt to face you, but overall usually the player is facing upwards slightly, and the moment you leave his "range", he snaps back to his original direction and stance. If you are recording, either try to jump into a fight at his back, and see if you get damaged.

Secondly, there is also a simple way to see if he *doesn't* hack. If you go into a close proximity where in most cases a hacked client would damage you instantaneously, if that does not occur he is not using hacks.

I judge where they look at. Slowing down a video(thanks to pyro for reminding me to add this later) can help judge if he is looking AT you or if he is looking NEXT to you, in which if he is looking NEXT to you, it is a sign of kill-aura.

And, as stated in my source about KillAura, that hack that you are describing, there are different variations of it, knowing each and every one must be taken into consideration, becauase each and every one exists.

Again, please follow my disclaimer. Please, as irresistable as it is, refrain from making comments here.

If you have any questions or suggestions, just send it to me via inbox. It's not that hard >_>

There is a hack called Toggle Sprint. It is actually similar, but yet different, to the sprint key you are able to bind in the vanilla Minecraft.
Vanilla Minecraft has a key binder to sprint, meaning if you hit a block or something, you will stop sprinting.

Meanwhile, toggle sprint allows you to keep sprinting; no matter the circumstances. You are able to detect this if someone is standing still but their sprint particles are showing (unless they're lagging).
Another way you are able to identify this is if you clearly see them hit a block and they do not stop sprinting. This may be harder to detect but it is still detectable.

I may add some more hacks later on.

Some mods that shall go unnamed really need to read this. Slight lag also needs to be taken into account. If you find yourself having trouble determining whether or not it's a hacker based off of something small, it's probably not a hacker.

If you need to slow down footage to find hacks, then its not sufficient proof due to ping lag and other factors that, once slowed down, won't entirely be in sync.

And I'm sorry, I didn't know you made the rules here, I didn't see a "staff" tag.

Honestly slow motion videos of hacking is just editing to exaggerate lag.

And that's exactly what I'm trying to prove. Minecraft footage isn't something you can just slow down to watch, once you do that its much easier to mistake people for hacking. If there's a slight fluctuation, or a slow ping, slowing it down magnifies it quite a bit.

Yeah, just another way for people to get falsely banned. If I had to make a guess, I would say at least one-third of people banned for hacking are done so falsely.

Ok, thank you. Although I still find it important for staff and members to know about hacking, identifying them, ect. I will make a more presentable documentary(most likely in a video) with better sources and a better variation of these hacks.
