My favourite is Halloween (1978). The atmosphere of that movie is just interesting and settles in with me.
I have a few, here are my 5: 5: Nightmare on Elm Street 4: Scary movie 1 3: Hellraiser 2: The Exorcist 1: Evil Dead 2
Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the best horror franchise and i will take that to my grave i totally do not find Leatherface extremely attractive at all
texas chainsaw massacre is super scary texas chainsaw 3d filmed like 20 miles away from where i live it was super trippy to see areas i spent time in growing up in the film i was like woahh
I love horror films :D I really can't choose just one I grew up watching the stupid Scary Movie and Saw franchises so those movies have a special place in my heart But my list of all-time favorites are: Night of the Living Dead (1968) Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989) House (1977) The Wicker Man (1973) El esqueleto de la señora Morales (1960) The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) The Shining (1980) Psycho (1960) Also the really stupid gimmicky shit like The Banana Splits Movie (2019) and Teeth (2007) are some of my all-time favorites :)
'The Thing' (1982) It does a great job of making you feel helpless and paranoid along with the characters. It keeps you guessing throughout most of the film and has one of the best scenes of all time in it, for what my opinion is worth. Also the set design is good and the special effects are almost unmatched, especially considering that this film is 36 years old. A true classic in every sense of the word.
I think the descent is a really scary movie, even me who doesn't have claustrophobia at all felt mildly uncomfortable during the whole movie. The thing has gotta be one of the best movies though it was all practical effects and they look so cool and gross, it's got tension too cause of the trust factor of not knowing whos the alien.
