Sometime last year, J&H got rid of the death animations in OITC. A lot of us editors had stopped playing the game since then, as it was difficult to show genuine kills. Please bring this back, and I guarantee there will be much more recognition for the server. If not, could I please be explained as to why death animations was gotten rid of.
I'm pretty sure it's removed because the standard death animation made it so that arrows get blocked by dead bodies. It's unfortunate because the death animation did look more satisfying than getting teleported to another spawn point.
Okay. I'm going to list the pros and cons on the death animations Pros: It looks cool Easier for Editors. Cons: Slow Death Click Respawn Button We've had it for so long (2014-2021) There is too many glitchs that involved using the death glitch (I could list 100s but I don't think that's relevant to the topic so I won't). Spawnkilling is easier. People can take extra damage from the person dying sometimes because they can still register a few hits right as they are dying. (which ruins melee fights a lot) Sidenote: I've seen editors add death animations to OITC in this reset so why can't yall just add a death animation over it? (Sure it might be complicated but it's still worthy I guess) Too many Cons for my personal liking but who knows, maybe J&H can add like a visual setting that it shows for some people when they die in a death animation but the "ESC Menu" doesn't appear so we can still feel like the game is fast paced because It's annoying when the game loads you back in after dying multiple times from being spawnkilled for-say. (I could go on more in-depth about this but that's all I'm going to cover for now)
All that us editors want is just to visibly see the player falling down. Maybe they could replicate that in an animation like you said.
What do you mean we've added death animations? None have us have added our death animations on J&H, that would be near impossible, and even if it was manageable would require perfect precision in another program, with more precision in editing. I'm all in with effort in the community, and a lot of other people too, but I don't think for death anims we have ever or would ever do that
