    Pretty self explanatory, I want to know what you all are going to be doing when 1.17 releases! Personally, I've got a survival world that I have put a ton of work into that will get some nice new features :)

    Me and couple buddies always get a realm/server for the new updates, we haven't decided if we'll do it for part 1 or wait for part 2, but if we do, I'll be most excited for the mobs I think

    The "part 2" of the initial update, so the world generation, build height, etc, is actually just gonna be most of 1.18. So all of "1.17" is being released tomorrow. And 1.19 is gonna be leaked at Mincraft Live, whenever that's gonna be.

    Yeah most of my guys are excited for the build height and all that, it's going to be pretty cool

    I'm definitely excited for that as well! Moreso excited that I don't have to create a new world to experience the new things. They're using an engine that figures out which chunks you've loaded but not actually visited and will slightly alter those, and then completely change unloaded ones near there to have new stuff, kind of like a fade. Really cool concept and I can't wait to see it live.

    I don't know much about the specifics regarding what's being added or implemented with this 1.17 update, but recently I've started a new singleplayer survival world and have been playing a small bit and actually have enjoyed the experience so far. One thing I do know tho is that I think ores are gonna be able to spawn in different block variants; also, I think they're making iron and gold drops different to make them accessible to the fortune enchantment, which sounds really cool

    I'm sure you can quickly google a log for what's being introduced; gives you a heads up for what's being added! The new block variants are from a specific cave generation called deepslate (it's essentially it's own massively open biome, just a lot darker). The new iron and gold you're talking about is called raw ore. So there will be regular gold/iron/copper and deepslate gold/iron/copper as the blocks, which all drop raw variants when not mined with silk touch, this can then just be melted into an ingot, or crafted into a raw ore block.

    I'm mostly looking forward to the goats (since they're one of my favourite animals) if they ARE getting added, and exploring the caves! I heard finding diamonds is way too easy now though, don't know if they fixed that (coming from DanTDM and someone else's video)

    Can't wait to find a screaming goat and hide it in my friends base xd


    From looking at snapshots, there's actually quite a few, though not as many as previous updates. I'm most excited for the deepslate/blackstone mix, that's gonna be smexy.

    I'm the most excited about understanding less and less about the game! The realization of getting older and more disconnected from games along side noticing that you aren't as sharp as you used to be and the ever dreading feeling of getting older! :)

    I have already amassed an army of axolotls in my survival world >:)

    Still can't find a fucking lush caves for the life of me

    Did they update the cave generation? From what I can see from update it's still the same, unless it's for the second part of the update (1.18)

    no, you're right on that. I forgot that lush caves counted as a new biome so I thought they would just re-skin a section of a cave instead of being it's own completely separate thing. For now I have to rng luck with a wandering trader to get the new blocks from the lush caves.

    goats were, yes. I've seen several on my false quest to find lush caves.

    What threw me off was the fact that the blocks are obtainable (all except the new spore thing) through the wandering trader as it turns out.

    Mine’s honestly really small but tinted glass and candles. Especially the latter, I can definitely see it really adding to those small details when creating interiors.

    Aside from that, it’d probably be the new blocks. Always keen to have more to select from when building.
