A while back I made a thread about must have browser extensions.

Recently, I've done some exploring on the literally hundreds of browser options out there and have come across a new favorite.

For those that don't know, I previously used 3 different browsers depending on the purpose.
Opera for online learning and research
    Chrome for social media
Firefox for essentially everything else (making it my primary browser).

While I still have all 3 of them installed, and still do occasionally use them for those specific purposes, I have found myself migrating to a new web browser called Brave for pretty much everything and thought I'd share why.

    1) Speed. It's unreal how fast brave loads data compared to the other browsers I've used. It's very, very, noticeably different.
    2) Brave doesn't need adblock or trackerblocker plugins. I haven't done a significant amount of exploring of this feature yet, but it's buil-in ad and tracker blockers seem to work quite effectively, whereas I previously used extensions like Disconnect, uMatrix, Ghostery, ABP, Pop-up blocker strict, etc.
    3) It's Chromium based, so Chrome extensions and Chrome features (like the awesome new tab-group feature) all carry over and function inside of Brave.
    4) Multi-platform use. Like Chrome, I can use it on my mobile devices, laptop and PC. What's really cool, though, is that on mobile it uses significantly less power. Absolutely love that.
    5) Freedom of Choice. Are you familiar with products like Google Widevine? Widevine is a very important product when it comes to sites like Netflix to ensure that content is protected. Netflix wont let you watch its feed without it, in fact. Brave doesn't change that, but it does inform you about what these products do and gives you the option to install them instead of pushing them on its users by default.
    6) Sleek and simple design. Most browsers take a simple design approach these days, but I didn't have to install a theme or whatnot to make it how I wanted. It's base design was simple enough for me.

The only real drawback so far is a problem a lot of browsers have (not all, mind you): The lack of customizability of the new tab page. Now, it has customization features, just not as many as I would like. But hey -- there's extensions for that.

This might seem like an advertisement or something. Really, I just enjoy sharing new things. What browser do you use and what do you like about it?

I am using Chrome on both mobile and PC, because it's the one I feel more familiar with, it's also the most popular one, so I don't really use other browsers, I gotta use Opera in the library when I am writing stuff, and there are some differences, but I wouldn't mind using anything else than Chrome to be honest as long as I can search anything xD

I don't really care about browsers really, I used to use IE (Internet Explorer) back in the days until I found out Chrome before 2014.

I use Chrome now and I don't really pay attention to how fast it is, or how it looks, though I have changed my background to you guessed it, anime. I use Chrome all the time.

I’ve never heard about anyone using three different browsers. I just use Chrome - it’s fast, customizable, and not microsoft edge.

Chrome because it's what I currently use and it takes too much effort to try new things.

I currently use Firefox due to recommendation, I've enjoyed the look of it including customization options and overall design of the browser.
It seems to run a bit better than Chrome did in the past so there's that as well, might look into this new browser you speak of because why not

    Ahhh.

Eh, here and there, I tried using different browsers, i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox (the Brave web browser sounds stunning, indeed.) However, Google Chrome seemed to checkmark off the things that suited my preference. *thumbs up*

I use Chrome on my desktop because its easier then other browsers. For my phone I use Safari since my phone is İphone and safari is better then chrome on IOS (In my opinion)

Firefox. It works pretty well, has some pretty cool features like tab containers and most importantly isn't made by Google lol.

While I definitely use Google's products and stuff, I'd definitely prefer a world where it isn't just Google (through Chromium, which is what basically every browser except Firefox and Safari use now) and Apple deciding the future of the web.

Personally I'm also super suspicious of Brave, as their whole business model seems shaky, bordering on dodgy at times:
    https://decrypt.co/31522/crypto-brave-browser-redirect
Issue with BAT tokens not being opt in

So personally, I'd much rather use Chrome or Firefox and add the missing features (which seem to be mostly ad blocking and a nicer theme?)

But my typical browser set looks like this:
    Firefox: Pretty much everything (Windows,
    Android and macos)
Chrome: For the rare cases a site doesn't work in Firefox, or for testing websites I'm working on for cross browser compatibility
Safari: Basically never, unless I'm running low on battery life, since it definitely is more energy efficient than Firefox.
Internet Explorer: yeah, I actually have to use this because I've got some devices that can be only configured in IE because they have ActiveX controls, yuck.

I just switched to Opera GX, this is much better than Google Chrome. The set-up is insane!
