Fireworks ban, cool or uncool?

It's pretty obvious to me that they want to ban fireworks for every upcoming year, and only allow cities to have a firework show instead of allowing people to buy and light fireworks themselves.

I'm against the ban, I do understand what they're trying to achieve but I don't think it will help. Fireworks are already banned all year except for new years day, so the big firework fans are already waiting an entire year to finally be able to do their hobby in their home country without fear of fines and now that is taken away too.
I also think that without fireworks it won't really be a new years celebration, this is personal but for as long as I've been here new years was the thing you went in with Fireworks. I'd wish that my cousin can experience the fun that I had with fireworks, going out with friends and lighting small fireworks and just kind of (fucking around) with it.

Plus I don't think it's doing much good right now, a lot of people are against it and a lot of those people are willing to push the limits. In certain places they're doing nightly riots, in my city I've ((observed)) riots against the new rules that led to roadblocks being placed on main roads and then lit on fire. You've also got a spike in illegal fireworks now, the ones that are classified as a ''Class 4'' bomb are easier obtainable then ever and cheaper too.

Anyway, I know a bunch of you come from a country where fireworks are legal all year long so for some of you this might be just a ''well next time'' moment. But here it's only legal for one day a year, and last year was probably the last time.

In My opinion:

Fireworks should be LEGAL but, it has to be only in control of the government. That means, not everyone can use these fireworks. Only people that have a certificate. So it will reduce the amount of usage and amount of injuries. Fireworks are not really bad things that have to get banned but should be reduced either.

I celebrated my last new year in Times Square, New York City. I can say that it was my worst new year celebration because you're just waiting like 5 hours till that stupid ball falling. Also on new yere eve, there's so much security in Manhatten (To prevent any kind of terrorist attack). You cannot do anything that much on Manhatten during the new year. Cops don't let you go through the streets without your hotel reservation or any kind of event reservation that happens in Manhatten.

So what happens during the new year in Manhatten:

You have to go to Manhatten at 12 PM (Because of the stupid security) You probably arrive to your hotel at 4 PM. You just can go to a restaurant and spend your time there. After that, on 7-8 PM there will be so many people in times square (Around 10.000, maybe more?) and there will be a party. After that, at nearly 11 PM they will start to talk about their wishes. On 12 AM they dropping the ball that hanging on top of times square and all fireworks get fired. Then people start kissing each other and yelling "HAPPY NEW YEAARRR". There's what happens in New York City. Do I suggest to go? Not really.

Who cares just celebrate it in your house it's much better then outside.

It's fine if it's just one time ban, but not forever banned, fireworks give a more festive vibes for new years (we do them for eid al-fitr and xmas too). But, Indonesia been getting rain everyday anyway (it's raining as i'm typing this right now, 3 hours until 2020 2) no one will play with fireworks tonight.

Also, a ban just makes people want to push the limits yeah, people will find ways to get their hands on them legally or illegally. One time ban is fine, just dont ban it forever.

Or, use school as an education measure on children and teens instead of forcing everyone to get a license for everything.
Better education and showing what happens to children will have the same impact I think.

Just because you had a shitty ball drop experience doesn't mean everyone sees it that way.

The fear is that it will be a permanent ban from now on, since our government has been trying to do so for the past few years.

I don't know about you, but we got like a ton of guest classes about what happens when you use fireworks wrong (from Halt). And how to safely use fireworks. Maybe that's not on every school yet?

Well, it's been a long time since I went to school.. Things have changed so they might do that now, but from my time there was none.
