We know politicians lie. I don't think it's even worth mentioning because none of their lies compared to Trump's lies. For example, lying about the virus in the first place, lying about it going away, lying about a vaccine. People's lives were at stake, and because of his lies caused the virus to be politicized, people died. Has Joe Biden done anything like this?

Trump is the only bad one because his lies have caused half our country to hate the other. Lying about democrats destroying the country is huge. No president has done this. So yes, Trump is the only bad one because his lies breed hate within civilians.

Who won't be able to handle themselves?

ok but like ik lying about the virus was a dick move, but trump was just trying to have people not worry or whatever, not really my place to talk about this one
no because he's not president LOL i'm sure if biden was or becomes president, he would probably keep or fabricate a lot of information as well, but i digress
bruh, so because people disagree and become divided due to them not being able to handle their own disagreements, it's all trumps fault? got it. people have been politically disagreeing with each other for years, but for some reason, it's a lot more violent now
the people screaming, crying, and rioting over political bullshit. goddamn crybabies who claimed they would move to canada if bernie lost in 2016.

regardless of whoever wins, shits gonna suck and someone's gonna end up crying

I 100% agree with this. But I mean, it's not Biden supporters shutting down road ways with armed militia's, committing federal crimes, losing their shit over rigged elections, expanding racism, chanting to stop the counting of votes, or creating the fear that's inducing these businesses to board up their buildings... is it?

Hey, anyone remember when both current candidates were asked to condemn white supremacy and malitia groups?

Offered only with the following comment: I'm stuck somewhere between "his debate quote is being cherrypicked because he's denounced it already" and "it's troubling that there is a need for those articles because it is not abundantly clear that he opposes white supremacy"

Actually, I don't at all agree that it is "abundantly clear." That's not relevent, imo, though. Neither is the articles from 3 years ago. He came out with a statement on 2nd of October of this year after the debate to clean up his poor words during the debate (where he announced this sepcific issue of not denouncing it this time) which would be relevent.

The point is that when put on the spot he isn't able to adequately process an appropriate response. Another example is when he was asked what he wanted to say to the citizens that didn't vote for him.

Excerpt from the first article that you linked,

"Trump: Well, I do think there’s blame – yes, I think there’s blame on both sides. You look at, you look at both sides. I think there’s blame on both sides, and I have no doubt about it, and you don’t have any doubt about it either. And, and, and, and if you reported it accurately, you would say."

    ???
It took him three sentences to say, "There are people to blame on both sides."

The last sentence, "If you reported it accurately..."
Whether or not the reporter did report this accurately, the President of the United States said this to the reporters face during an interview. How can people listen to this man speak to the media, and think, "Yes, this is the guy I want leading my country."

Associated Press, CBS, MS/NBC, CNN and ABC have all called it for Biden. It's over. Biden has won the Presidency.
    • No, It wasn't stolen. Please don't blindly believe unfounded claims by Trump or anyone. The Blue surge in the rust belt was because republican lawmakers did not allow those states to count absentee ballots until after the election. Combine that with the fact that Trump told his supporters to NOT vote absentee, it makes a lot of sense for the absentee ballots to break for Biden in large numbers.
    • Voter fraud does exist. However, as conservative pundit Ben Shapiro points out, the amount of fraud will almost certainly not be enough to materially change the outcome of the election.
This thread will remain open for a bit longer, namely until Trump concedes, the lawsuits are thrown out, or the election is otherwise finalized.

I wanted to talk a little about this specifically.

I live in Oregon, the state with the longest history of mail in voting (been happening since the early 1980's). Through many years of mail-in voting, we've statistically proven that cases of voter fraud are INSANELY low. For example, in the 2016 election Oregon cast over 2 MILLION votes. 54 of those votes were flagged as POSSIBLE voter fraud, only 10 of them turned out to actually be fraudulent. 10 cases out of 2 million votes.

During the same 2016 election, there was a 5-state study for voter fraud encompassing 11.5 million votes investigated between the states of Colorado, Delaware, Maryland, Oregon and Washington. In total, there were only 112 ACTUAL cases of voter fraud out of 11.5 million votes.

Simply put, there is no chance, no chance, that voter fraud is an explanation for the outcome of the election. You could take every voter fraud case found this year in all 50 states, pile them all into the state that gives trump his best chance at flipping from blue back to red, and it will still be Blue.

I hope everyone, American or not, can accept the outcome of the election and can move forward toward working on a better world instead of finding bitter ways to justify even more hatred.

And to clarify on this a little bit for everyone else (because I know Ezz knows XD)

Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Utah, and Washington prior to the 2020 election are mail-in/drop off voting online. Meaning there is no going to a polling location and ticking off your vote there. We receive an information packet approximately 2-3 weeks prior to the election. Then 2 weeks prior to the election we get our ballots in the mail. We can drop off our ballots at specified locations in our county, these are permanent fixtures in most cases.

In the 2016 election, there were 56 cases of possible voter fraud and only 10 of them lead to convictions in my state. Meaning out of 2,001,336 votes there we re only 10 instances of voter fraud.

I can break it down state by state too. I'm a geek that likes research because I'm a facts/data brain.

The problem I see, is that even with a Biden presidency, I suspect that the US's political institutions are just not fit for purpose in a modern democracy. When you have a system that actively punishes compromise and allows two different groups to have completely different world views to each other based on your polticial parties, you are inevitably going to end up with outcomes like this (not to mention how the presidential, house and senate elections all systematically favour one political party over the other.

I guess I just don't see how this resolves itself, because there will be another Trump, one who might be even worse than the current president, and if these two hugely different worldviews don't reconcile, I suspect you guys might be heading to some pretty heavy civil unrest in the next couple of decades.

Also here's my premature rip to the democrats in the 2022 midterms.

I foresee another situation similar to when Obama was in office. How Congress drug their feet about getting anything done. I've said it many times that they should care more about the citizens and less about party loyalty. That is one of my biggest frustrations. There are a few things that I wish would happen. That people in Congress need to disclose when they get financial backing from big corporations ex: Big Tobacco or Pharma. I think that is a huge part of the corruption. I also think that there should be a standard to extinguish politicians from behaving the way Trump did on Twitter. There were many times he leaked things that were State Secret. I could go on and on about these things.

That said, it takes a lot to scare me. How things have been the past few weeks where we live makes me feel as terrified as I did when 9/11 happened. There have been the people in the trucks driving around with the Trump flags and in the local Facebook groups there are pictures with these same people out in public with their guns. They even had them outside of a ballot drop off place (which is illegal). I truly believe we're in the eye of the hurricane right now and all hell is about to break loose.
