I'm in the middle on this game. It's one, for me at least, that if I owned, I would probably/most likely play it, but I don't think I'm at the point yet where I analyze every pixel of every trailer and then pre-order right away... I'm just not 100% yet. Keanu Reeves do be very good though. I've also already bought 2 other games that come out on November 10 and 13, with another 1 that come out on those days and another on October 29 as well that I'm looking to get... 3 games coming out over the span of 4 days with an outlier lmfao. (Beyond Light in Destiny 2, Black Ops Cold War, Assassins Creed Valhalla, and Watch Dogs Legion for anyone wondering)
a new round of isolation begins next month. We should have had all these games at the start of COVID :,( it would have made this year easier. Some of the vehicles and weapons they’ve shown look pretty epic and can’t wait to make myself mostly cyborg. I love the aesthetic look of this game overall. It will be awwwwessssoommmee once multiplayer arrives!!! And plus Keanu? Ohhhh yeahhhh
Fair points, but have you considered Destiny 2 Beyond Light picking up on story points left from 6 years ago and the first new subclass in 4 years? Not to mention a brand new location with several insane looking locations and scenery, mechanics, weapons, raids, strikes, and new exotics? Black Ops Cold War having been teasing hints and returning to the BETTER zombies system instead of the clusterfuck that was bo4? Returning to the same "universe" but with a new story line that wont also be the clusterfuck that was bo4? Beta is also pretty good ngl. It's a very nice mix of playstyles between the classic black ops feel with a strong hint of battlefield. Assassins Creed has always been good, but black flag was the best imo - I hope this gives us more fre-roam sailing and plundering. The "ancient era" assassins creed games have been amazing, I've played all of them and have found each one incredible. Watch Dogs is it's own uniquely modern society that gives insight to a ton of awesome technologies and fun tactics.
GODDDD I WANT IT TO BE GOOD If it's just a FRACTION of what CDPR is capable of, it'll be a masterpiece. But, I can also see it flopping so fucking hard because of how much hype. Realistically, when has something EVER lived up to this much hype? Or has anything ever had this much hype?
Taken King was definitely a good expansion... but it didn't have anywhere the amount of hype this game has. This game has been building up hype for 7 years and in those 7 years has been anticipated to be the most expansive, deep, and breath taking open world experience ever. The closest thing imo was probably The Last Of Us II, which had only a little less hype than this, and it didn't deliver all too much.
I was thinking in terms relative to how long it was first announced... 7 years will obviously build a shit ton of hype, that's to be expected. But I think for the incredibly small relative time compared to Cyberpunk 2077, Destiny's Taken King created, in that time, rarely seen amounts of hype. This is what cemented Destiny as a top-tier first person shooter / mmo. The dlc had been announced at Destiny's E3 panel, a mere three months before it's release date that following september. "Two days after its release, Sony announced that The Taken King had broke the record for the most-downloaded day-one game in PlayStation history, in terms of both total players and peak online concurrency" "set a new franchise record for total players and peak online concurrency, beating last year's "Destiny" launch, which was the biggest launch for a new gaming franchise in history."
So, the games out. What's everyone's thoughts on it so far? Personally I really like it. I've only played about three or so hours so far but it's really giving me vibes of New Vegas having a baby with The Witcher 3 (for obvious reasons) I really love the game and despite the pretty heinous bugs and glitches I'm seeing right now, I have no doubt that in a little bit, this would maybe be some people's best game of all time.
