Personally I don't like it and think it could be improved easily. But I'm interested in what you guys think?

(if you guys can keep this non argumentative I will give you a golden star)

What can they improve? You say they can improve things but don't give examples.

Here in the Dutch school system that I was in, there are many things that can be improved.
Such as the amount of importance they put on certain subjects like learning different languages, or learning basic skills for life.
I knew about taxes and all of that, but you never get told how to do them or how much actually comes into play once you live on your own. The first month or so of living on my own I grew hatred towards my mail box because every week I'd receive a letter of the city that would tell me I need to pay for certain things I never even knew existed, let alone suddenly figuring out how to pay for it and figuring out if you are paying the correct amount or not. I'd had much preferred my school to teach me about that then having to be bored out of my mind for arts and crafts.

This is pretty biased but I think schools should also teach people how to maintain their car for example, and already teach young teens how to be safer on the road and slip in some things that can help them with their drivers license. The amount of time that I am stuck in traffic because some (bleep) drove off with a flat tire and only noticed it on the highway is too damn much, but they don't know any better than ''start car and drive'' so you can't really blame them for it I guess.

I can go on and on, but then again the people in charge probably do things these ways because it has worked.
But because it has worked doesn't mean it'll stay in working shape for the future, I'd like to see the system to yearly make one big change and improved for the best that way.

The number of mental health issues in my country because of the school system is astronomical. Teachers are stupidly underpaid and are told to teach a system which has pushed several kids to (tw) suicide and self harm.

based on tests and passing instead of actually learning, imo shouldnt be that way and i dont feel like im actually learning shit when all im trying to do is cram for a test and forget it all after
i hear in finland tests dont happen nearly as often but i could be wrong, i feel like its more productive to focus on learning rather than testing

US tests and school is about how much you can memorize for about 8 years and then you start challenging yourself by getting to high school, where its all quite bullshit. Nothing is taught about how to succeed in life. The closest thing I've seen to that is in ap stats (a hard enough class as it is) where it involves real world situations and current statistics about stuff and learning about how to understand it. None of it helps me do taxes, or apply for things, or do any of that.
    100 fucking %
Although, in my school, there's a program that takes up three (out of a total of 7) periods or blocks in the day to go to another school and take a specialized class there (some include welding, performing arts, firefighting, yes that's a thing) and one of them is auto mechanics. So it does exist in my school, but then you can't take any extra classes outside of the core 4 (math, english, science, history). I take classes outside of those that I wouldn't give up just to, for 3 periods a day, learn how to change a spare tire for 2 years. It's a two year course btw, all of these programs are. In junior and senior year (grade 11 and 12) and if you miss the time to sign up in sophomore (10th grade) year then you just can't do it.

TikToks skim the very very basic.
Actual learning is going in-depth on a topic, not a fifteen second video of a girl saying ''Ayo didn't know until I was this old check'' and showing you you can open a drawer with your foot

Same here, I regret not taking Welding more serious. I know how to weld (((((alrightish))))) but I wish I put more effort in it, it's such a unique skill nowadays and super useful to have.
My school focused on this more since it was a different kind of education that focused more on looking where your talent is rather than teaching you how to do math etc. Sadly at that age you don't realize the importance of these things and don't take it serious, but I can say that I paid attention during most of the mechanic classes and it has paid off in the end.

Where? I tried googling about your area (wales) but I don't get much statistic based on what you're saying.

It's not massively documented as it's very I guess "British" to say youre fine and no one asks questions. But personal friends of mine have had such severe stress and mental health issues they have been driven to suicide.
