As much as I love the Rockets (I live in Houston) after watching them play the Lakers, they just weren't hitting their shots except for harden who had 30 points while westrbook only had 10. If they continue playing like they did against LeBron there's just no way.

The Lakers' defensive schemes were the primary reason that the matchup against the rockets worked so well. Westbrook was a nonfactor that series. The stats he would put up in the games were not contributing towards team success, and ultimately ended up screwing the team over. Now, that's not to say that Westbrook was a bad player, however in terms of the offensive structure the Rockets had the looks that ended up being generated for Westbrook were threes and contested layups. Russ, especially in this series, cannot shoot the damn ball. It was tragic. On a team that attempts more threes than twos, it was really sad to see Russ get all these open shots and either miss them or go straight at either AD or Lebron and get absolutely stuffed. The lakers played this well because they deep dropped on Russ and went over screens for literally everyone else. There's a photo going around on some accounts on Insta with a pic that explains it perfectly between the difference in coverage of Russ and Lillard. Russ was good for his own things on the rockets such as pushing the pace and making them a more transition oriented team, or just being able to blow by defenders and attack bigs, however switching a big onto him is ultimately how the lakers killed the rockets. Less playing time for him would've been optimal for this rockets team.

An interesting stat that backs this is that in game 2 the offensive rating for the rockets with Russ on the floor was 97 something, while with him off the floor it was hovering at around 149. To put it in to perspective how hyper-efficient a 149 offensive rating is, through the total season the Mavericks had the highest offensive efficiency in NBA history for a single team at 116.7. The rockets without russ on the floor for game 2 had a rating 33 points higher than the team with the highest in history.

wdym? he got to the conference finals last year. hes playoff ready, but Mike bud isn't. I blame him the most for the bucks not doing well against good teams in the playoffs, and sometimes even the regular season.

Well, the meme is a reality. Clippers blew a 3-1 lead, and a team named the "Nuggets" has, true to their name, shit all over both the Jazz and the Clippers. Imagine blowing a 3-1 lead to a team named the "Nuggets."

All jokes aside, goddamn. Guess I'm betting all my money on the Nuggets beating the Lakers and Heat in 7, both from down 3-1. Still guessing Bol Bol finals MVP just for the memes, fuck it.

Also, this discussion on is Giannis playoff ready? Ofc he is, he just needs experience. He needs to learn to take over the game when he's needed most, but also his coach got SEVERALLY out-coached.

TL;DR, nuggets shit on Clips, F in chat. Giannis is big boy but bad coach, and Bol Bol is going to put up 2k type numbers in the finals.

Honestly, I had hopes the Raps would make it back to the finals, but we came across the worst opponent we could go up against: Boston. Either Boston or Miami would've been bad for us and unfortunately, we ran into Boston in the second round. It was a really close series but in the end, Boston deserved the win.

However, in the East Finals I do expect Miami to pull out, however, in a close fashion. I think they'll win in maybe 6, possibly 7. I don't think anyone's going to take the series in 5 just by looking at the strength of both teams.

In the west however, hoo boy. 2 3-1 leads blown against the Nuggets and they just stole those two series. Clippers curse lives on, 50 years without going to the conference finals. How ironic is it when they talk absolute mad shit and they can't back it up? Playoff P turned into Pandemic P and it's really starting to show. I don't want to hear anyone call Paul George a superstar ever again. If you can't perform when it counts the most, you do not deserve to be called a superstar. The future of the Clippers is extremely bleak with Sam Presti committing a robbery by stealing all of the Clippers' draft picks. If they don't win the chip or make the finals next year, this trade deal to acquire Paul George is gonna make the Billy King deal looks like a straight up masterpiece. Holy mother of god.

    My predictions from now on?
    - ECF: Miami in 6
    - WCF: Lakers in 5
    - Finals: Lakers in 6

I do think Boston can win the series, but after seeing how the series with Toronto went, it's clear that a lot of their flaws have been exposed that Miami can exploit. Game 1 was a really close endeavor, but I expect Boston to tie the series 1-1 and we'll see how it goes from there.

Was gonna reply tomorrow instead, but I'll go ahead and give a small though. Nuggets were tired af in game 1, got it handed to 'em. Game 2, they make an incredible comeback and only lose because of an equally incredible buzzer-beater by AD. Game 3, although they choaked what was a 20 point lead down to as little as 3, they did pull it out with a 10 (8 because Caruso decided to score a layup with 1 second left in the game) point victory. What have we learned from this? When both teams are equally rested, it's a very, VERY close series, and I might even give the Nuggets the edge.
Now that I've said this, the Lakers will likely win the next 2 games and just end it there, but I'm telling you, if LA goes up 3-1 I'm putting a *little* bit of money on Denver. Those boys are something special.

If the Heat wins their game tomorrow (as I expect them to), the Celtics players can start booking their flights to wherever they want to go for vacation. They're not coming back from 3-1 down to the Heat, the Heat are just far too strong defensively, and their mentality it possibly the strongest of any team left in the bubble.
Odds are probably a Lakers v Heat finals, but I'd love to see a Denver v Heat finals.

Anyway, um, Nuggets look great, still. AD looked tired, LeBron looks great as usual. If Murray puts up 50 again I might say Nuggets to the finals. This game was certainly exciting if nothing else. Imagine a world where we get a 3v5 seed in the finals and it's the Nuggets and the Heat, two teams nobody even had picked to make their conference finals, really. It would be sick.

Oh, and if the Lakers go up 3-1 and the Nuggets come back again, I want a public apology threat from @Teddie for showing so much disrespect to my boys. That's all.

Really no point in making this take longer than it needs to be. Lakers in 5, just as they have their last 3 opponents. Miami is tricky and well-coached, but they just can't beat LeBron and AD every night. AD will go off for 30 a couple of times and LeBron will be how LeBron is in the finals. As much as I'm loving this Miami team, there's no real chance here.
If, somehow, Miami DO win, it'll be a horrible scar on LeBron's career. But that won't happen unless something crazy goes down like AD just disappearing and 2 or 3 of the Miami guys averaging around 30.

Since predicting the series outcome isn't too exciting, how about we look at players? Here's some fun takes I got.
-Herro will go off as he did in game 4 of the ECF at least once, scoring around 32
-LeBron will score over 40 at least once, and AD will score around 35 twice
-Bam will average around 24 and 11 rebounds but will have a game with nearly 20 rebounds and another game with over 30 points
-Jimmy Buckets will have a 4th quarter with over 15 points that wins Miami their one game of the series
-If you got bored of how much I wrote and didn't read this you have the big ugly
-Alex Caruso will dunk on either Duncan Robinson or Tyler Herro, creating the first-ever NBA finals poster with a white guy dunking on another white guy
-LeBron will win finals MVP, becoming the first player to win Finals MVP on three different teams in NBA history

Yeah, that's about all I got. Remember to smash subscribe and like the video if you want to see more content like this in the future.

Lakers take it here. Simply enough, the heat are not a defensive team... and to play against AD and Lebron with an already shaky defense is an L.
