    back again making another thread

This thread is basically just proposing a single question: When is the cutoff limit of the server?
When will there officially be too little players to keep it afloat? How many daily players left will remain before it actually needs to shut down, and it's no longer profitable to keep up?

I'd really like to think that community comes over everything else, and that the future for the server seems bright with updates, but obviously that's not the truth.
I've witnessed it multiple times now, servers updating, only living for the payout streak, and then dying immediately after it ends. And even during the payout, the servers are slowly getting smaller with each reset.

So this just makes me wonder when the server is going to finally going to just.. give up really? When the effort to update, make new builds, reset, ect. just isn't worth it anymore? Since I don't see answers like "The server is doing fine!" or "You'll know a long time before we do it when it's closing" as fully sufficient answers anymore.

I'm looking for the opinions of the community here, and maybe if lucky an answer from an owner on it.

(don't warn/ban me again pls, these are my opinions and i'm just salty about everything)

the server is dying quickly, it boosted for like 2 months because of corona, but now that things are slowly starting to open up in the real world and people are beginning to get bored again, things are quickly declining

there can only be so many server resets until no one cares anymore, and trust me, that's not as far away as you think. stop being in denial about the server and don't even try the "there's still players!! players doesn't make it dead!!!" argument because i know the whole point of this server now is to make some extra pocket change, but i can only assume this server isn't really making a lot of money, it's the repetitive youtube videos that go over the 10 minute mark, but i'm not really salty at the owners here at all.

it's a difficult world out there and i'm trying to be understanding with the worldly situation and ways to get income, and many other people, including musicians i hold dear to my heart are relying on twitch and making extra merch just to make a quick few bucks, but how much money could a quickly dying server really bring in? i'm aware that every penny counts during a time like this but, like this thread is initially asking, when is the cutoff point here? when there's zero actual players and all that's left is the [for some reason] overly dedicated staff and the afk farmking players? or when the farmking players get tired of that too and they leave...

and it seems now the owners just clocked out. i have a lot of respect for j&h, they were overall super nice to me and understanding when i was staff, which makes me like them and see them as normal people who i have nothing against, but if an establishment's owners don't care anymore and it's ran by managers and admins, then what's the point of being the owner of the server? it seems like j&h aren't even in charge of things anymore but i can't really say anything because, unfortunately, i'm not sure what goes on behind the scenes anymore.

not really much left to be said, well there's probably stuff i forgot to mention but i'm too lazy rn

The server will shut down when it is no longer profitable.

The server is no longer profitable when the costs of running it are higher than the revenue being generated.

That day will come one day, but it will not be this year.

Answering this question is a lose-lose. Low amount and people laugh at you, high amount and people call you greedy.

It's enough money to incentivize us to keep it going.

Nope, we're still here. The server is still being run by me and most of the code is still written by me. E.g. Prison prestiges, KitPVP outposts, /printer, /ftop, all bug reports, etc.
