Hi, Mythxc here. Basically, I was scrolling through the server list recently, and came above 'Legacy gamemodes'. Yes, I know this was implemented a while ago, but I believe that so many more games should be put inside of it. One prime example is Sumo; barely anybody comes on it and when they do, it's usually two players and an anti-velocity modders (they aren't classed as hackers, because they're only changing values). A video of one which I recorded will be down below for reference (Skip to 2:08). Basically, I'm making this post to create awareness for two things: number one, people tend to mod on the lower player counted gamemodes (staff, this may be a suggestion for you to go and check these more regularly). Number two, is that some of these gamemodes on the normal server selector aren't in their right place in *my opinion*, mainly as they have literally nobody playing on them. I'd just let them die. What do you all think? Should more gamemodes be removed or put into the 'legacy gamemodes' section? I generally want to hear your thoughts. - Mythxc
My issue with moving Sumo to legacy is that it is only for completely dead minigames that nobody plays. Sumo is still played, even if only by up to 10 players every now and then and still has people who play it regularly, from what I have seen. As for staff keeping an eye out on the lower populated minigames, we already do but I understand your point and therefore myself will be checking in on them even more often in the future. Of course reporting on the forum is the best way to go but /report really does help us as well. After that, I don't feel other minigames should be moved, I think in terms of legacy games, we are fine where we are now.
Yeah, we don't tend to stick around on them for that long. Mostly just check in on them every now and then rather than continuously watching them.
If I recall, the reason Jerry and Harry added these specific minigames to Legacy minigames is because: 1- They needed to make space on the new compass menu 2- These minigames require multiple people to start (Sumo only needs 2, while minigames like Buildit and Buildbattle require 4) The reason agarpvp is most likely up there is due to the fact that it's a competitive minigame. Nowadays on agarpvp you could probably get a leaderboard spot simply by just grinding mobs, since nobody even plays the game, there isn't really any point to keeping it on the menu if it averages 0 players. Sumo only needs 2 players to start, and it also has it's days. I've seen up to around 20 people on sumo some days (recently), so I wouldn't recommend adding that. Also, about the staff part. We get plenty of sumo reports daily. The reason we generally don't keep an eye on more empty minigames, is because the minigames that are empty generally don't involve any sort of way to hack, as most of them aren't even pvp based. Skywars is the only minigame really that is an exception to this, but skywars overall is pretty dead. Other then that, we deal with most hackers on other servers. TL;DR, minigames up there right now are completely dead, and staff only mostly pay attention to bigger servers due to larger amounts of rulebreakers.
I play sumo a lot because I am fire at it. But like Cheezi said, legacy minigames are ones that are completely dead and most of the time no one is ever on. Whenever I come on there is usually some people playing or even 1v1ing.
Have you given it a thought that maybe since you're from the UK, you don't see times when Sumo is more populated (When the Americans are all on the server later at night)? I'm not saying that it is more populated then, rather just because it's not populated when you're on the server, doesn't mean it's dead.
