The J&H Awards ~ Winter & Spring 2017 ~ Winners Hey everyone! Firstly, thanks for opening the thread. Created on the 2nd June 2017 - yes, that long ago, the awards are over. It's been interesting, and I'm glad I can finally tell you who actually won the unofficial IJAH awards for winter and spring 2017! Thank you to @hmj (Jerome) for letting me host the IJAH awards this year, and for help with sorting the awards out. So, let's start with each category: Most Inspirational Member Closest nominees: @/Slevin @/Serayne Winner: Oh boy... why did this happen.. @RobyNub1337 Most kind Closest nominees: @/Sofie @/Cheeziness Winner: @Phoenix Best member at playing minigames Closest nominees: @/Faithleo123 @/YFIOTR Winner: @Lone Most creative member Closest nominees: @/Sebastiann @/John_0696 Winner: @Phoenix Funniest member Closest nominees: @/Emma @/StarlightFox Winner: @khris Most loved staff member Closest nominees: @/Xenon @/Phoenix (again) Winner: @MrDeathWilliam Most influential non-staff member Closest nominees: @/Mats @/Tence3000 Winner: @Slevin Most influential staff Closest nominees: @/YFIOTR @/Serayne Winner: @Xenon ------ Alright, that's the winners for Winter & Spring 2017! Just a few things first: -Thanks to everyone who voted. It's becoming a cheesy thing to say, but if this didn't get people voting, it wouldn't have worked. So, thanks for helping this continue for another year. :D -There's one thing that caused a slight bit of "controversy" not so long back, where people got frustrated about the awards being mostly staff / ex-staff, which I want to address: How did so many ex-staff/current staff get to the winners? Well, it's just what people voted for. It's pretty obvious that not everyone will be happy with the outcomes for each award, and having staff being the majority of the people voted is just a coincidence. Is it not possible that most of the newer players who possibly don't the community to a high standard, enough to create a reasonable vote, just chose someone that was/is staff? I'm not saying I disagree with anyone who believes the votes are bad due to the number of staff members, but this is just what happens. Referring to what some people said, it's not possible to really get an unbiased vote - of course people are going to try and get friends to vote, or even just vote for a staff regardless of how long they've been here. Even though it seems sad for someone to try and cheat in winning a joke awards game on a Minecraft server - I guess it just happens. Congratulations to everyone that won. Don't take it too bad, there's always a chance to win next time... and after all, it's just some awards for a joke that mean nothing. I was here to attend this earlier and it was a really fun experience lol, can't wait for next years ;)
K, just aa suggestion. Due to the fact that every single person who won is or was a staff, I think we should either: 1. Make a whole different thread and whole different IJ&H awards for them, or 2. exclude them from all competitions except ones that are specifically for staff. Personally, to me the first option is the best because then the staff don't get ostracized. Also, way more fair and stuff. Give us non staff a chance will you! Not meaning to be offensive to staff of course
Former staffs are not staff. Saying this isn't fair makes no sense because it's the community itself who chose these people, not a single "biased" person. Requesting separate awards for people who were never staff is just an attempt to increase your chances of winning.
Was a lot more toxic than funny in my opinion, Tree can agree with me here. Let's hope next times results will be more, unique, ya know?
I'm not sure what you expected? Especially with the amount of Creative1 users that turned up, there wasn't much control I have over the chat.
