    Hia all!

Today I come to you all with a thread about the topic of (US) politics. I have a strong love for politics, and think that we as a community should be able to share along with one another our beliefs for a brighter future as a whole, of course while being mature about it at the same time.

Many of us have different beliefs on how this world should move forward in terms of leadership. Some of us believe we should all be equal financially and not have elitist rich people controlling our society, while others have beliefs that in order to have a healthy society, we need those same rich people to create jobs for the lower class people, and that's just one side of politics, being fiscally. Socially is where things become controversial as some people have strong beliefs on immigration and things like that.

Whether you think the other party is uneducated, racist, bigoted, whatever, I ask you to put aside those beliefs shortly in order to have a civilized discussion here. I have my beliefs and im sure you all have yours.

So by now you may be wondering what the purpose of this thread is? The purpose of this thread is to have a discussion on real world events as they are happening right now. Feel free to link documents and such of articles you guys see as something that is important or interesting to yourself and let everyone else know. Thats about it.

    Ill start this thread off.

What is everyone's opinion on the recent travel ban implementation? Its not the official travel ban, but key components were instated.

Opinion away! (Sounded a lot better in my head)

    CURRENT TOPIC: Gay rights.

that ban shouldn't be implemented, it's pretty bad. not only does that ban not target the countries where the majority of foreign terrorist attacks come from, but putting a ban on it makes it easier for isis to grow their numbers. banning people from coming to the u.s. is basically us saying "hey we don't want you here btw we're the land of the free which you don't deserve because you could be harmful" gives isis huge propaganda to go with, and makes it easier for them to get people to join them, which is the complete opposite of what we want (to eradicate isis).

also, most terrorist attacks in america aren't committed by people from those countries. in fact, most terrorists in the u.s. are whites, which is why it's kinda funny to me this ban is even being proposed. the ban is unneeded, it doesn't do what it's supposed to do correctly, and it only benefits the enemy.

when you're american and 13 times more likely to die from choking on your food than being killed by a terrorist

or when you're 467 times more likely to kill yourself than to be killed by a terrorist. guess the greatest enemy really is yourself

people are going to the u.s. because they believe it's a place where they can be free without being discriminated. that's why they're coming. the u.s. is not some god everyone wants to worship, it's a place where people believe they can come and make a living for themselves without having to worry too much about the government targeting them solely. if isis is gonna go ahead and use the travel ban as a way of saying that they don't care about us because we're muslim, then that will destroy their dreams of coming to the u.s. due to the undeniable fact that there is a travel ban on them.

oh and btw that family thing is bs. it doesn't include grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews or cousins. if you really wanna get proof of it, then you should take the effort and look it up yourself. you have hands; use them.

You're offered a bowl of cereal. This cereal tastes like absolute heaven. However, the person who is offering you this bowl of cereal tells you that one piece of the cereal in the box of cereal the bowl has been poured from is poisoned and can kill you.
Do you still eat the cereal?
By the way, this piece of cereal looks exactly the same as the other pieces.

Thats a good analogy, I like it.

    NEW TOPIC:

So, with pride month just ending, I'd like to touch upon the rights of honosexual people in the American world. Are they oppressed? Do they have equal rights, or are they still not equal as some say they aren't. At this point, it's all up to one's perception on the topic.

(P.S.) I have also added a current topic header to the OP.
