I suppose this counts as real life stuff; otherwise, idk whether or not this belongs here or in spam anyway I've been diving heavily into the ATLA fandom as of late. And I've come to admire such a great character relationship between that of Iroh and Zuko. If you haven't watched the series, I highly suggest giving it a shot. I went into it apprehensive with my expectations low, for it was an older cartoon (I only just watched it a month or so ago) but what I got was 100x better than what I would've ever thought. Like, c'mon. This storytelling is magnificent! It also provides some really great IRL advice as well stuff like: "It's time for you to look inward and begin asking yourself the big questions: who are you, and what do you want?" what are your thoughts on ATLA?
I watch it at least once every year, it's a wonderful series. You don't want to die without watching this series. :V If you haven't read it yet, I suggest you read the comics and if you haven't watched the Korra, watch it too.
Ahem https://itsjerryandharry.com/threads/avatar-the-last-airbender.130465/#post-1131550 (ly smg) And with this sentence Harry has just triggered half the internet over calling ATLAB an anime.
Watching it back in the day on TV was already great, even though I missed many episodes and often watched reruns of episodes. Eventually I saw them all out of order and understood the story for the most part, but re-watching the entire series as an adult I came to appreciate it even more. I wish they had longer episodes and another book, obviously they had to rush things in order to make the episodes hit the 23 minute mark. I love the story telling, the characters are all well done and given the right purpose. It's humor is great, and it's darker moments are dark. Plus I can't start about how good the voice actors are compared to the Dutch ones kek, Zuko is way better in Dutch but the Dutch dub is unbearable to watch now because Katara sounds like a clothing store doll that was found in an burnt down warehouse and given the ability to speak. In short, I wish I had an airbizon.
My family regularly watches both ATLA and ATLOK multiple times a year. We have an app called The Daily Iroh which provides ATLA quotes (typically involving Iroh, but not always) each day. I've a large list of anime under my belt, and ATLA is definitely on the top of that list.
Let's trigger them some more: Cartoons ARE Anime. Cartoons are dumbed down versions of Anime. #MadYet?
