For starters, the event is over. Secondly, no one said straight people can’t participate, as it says specifically allies were allowed, which means if you’re straight and support LGBT+, then you were welcome to join.
Straight people left in the dust? Lolll you know straight people have never been oppressed before and haven’t been judged for being straight. No one is saying straight people don’t matter. No one is attacking straight people in this thread!

its like the black lives matter, it's the past. in some countries you're segregated, but that's not up to you to fix.

you don't understand there IS people being peer pressured into being gay. being a straight white male is like a sin to the left side, and the left right now is standing their point. there is hate to straights, but it's nothing close to gays. but gays aren't hated anymore.

Card? Sorry but this isn't a game and I'm not pulling any cards as homophobia is still a thing in today's society. I'm not saying gay people should be treated special or as more important than straight people, I guess you just assumed that's what I meant? LGBT+ is striving for equality and not to be better than straight people.

Where are people being peer pressured to be gay? You got receipts? I don't think I've ever heard of that but I have seen the exact opposite where gay people feel too uncomfortable in their home and with their family to be who they are.
No one said there's something wrong with being a straight white male.. Not sure where you were told that gays weren't hated anymore because I see hate towards LGBT+ community on a daily basis.

Imo just like feminism, it all started as a fight for equality and it turned into the exact opposite. And this isn't our fault, any of us it's just how the media pictures all those things. YouTube and all the other "modern" media portrait the LGBT+ community as something superior and cool and that's exactly what annoys all of us
I am not Anti-LGBT but I really hate seeing stupid things like an 8 y.o dressing up as a drag queen and walking around like a wannabe prostitute. I wouldn't want my kids to turn like that you know

First of all, I'm not straight (I'm bi) but a lot of straight people wish to come to these pride parades. Straight people are allowed to attend these things. Pride doesn't just have to be for people who are LGBTQ. You can have pride for being straight. You can even have pride for being black or latino. Yes, these pride parades are mainly made to celebrate the LGTBQ. It's to remind the people who are homophobic that we still exist and we're happy to be who we are. Why can't we celebrate who we are like you celebrate Thanksgiving with a parade? It's okay to share your opinions but not if they're gonna be negative in a thread that's supposed to spread positivity.

This thread should be closed. Not because of all the people who are being negative but the event is over. Or...you can do another event.

and trans people cannot join the military because of funding for unnecessary things. taxpayers dont fund the military for people to get a sex change. also, transgenders are technically apart of a mental illness

homophobia is gonna exist throughout time, xenophobia, and really anything. you cant change it. they don't need to be proud of being gay, its getting on my fucking nerves. we get it u like the same gender. the reason they face so much hate is probably because they never shut up about their sexuality.

you dont see many stories about this kind of stuff because right now in 2017 straight isnt as important as lgbt. most of the left side thinks white males are fucking stupid. the hate isn't oppressing. they arent oppressed. they are hated, but everyone is hated by another. lgbt cant just say that straight people arent targeted, because everyone is.
