You seriously rate Tranquillity Base? I thought it was really dull. But anyways, Simulation Theory, Wildness, Love is Dead, and Politics of Living were standout for me this year. Imagine Dragons I had high hopes for, but Origins really wasn't that good other than Bad Liar and West Coast
sweetener - ariana grande has been my favorite album this year but i think ariana's upcoming album...thank u, next....will be the best to be released this year xo
That's what I thought originally, but I had to keep giving it some tries and I found enjoyment. Grew on me a lot. I think it has some of Alex's best vocal performances yet. Though, while every song is endlessly quotable and flows really consistently, I can understand the hate because in expense to that it's hard to tell most of it apart unlike other AM stuff. I'm just a bitch for glam rock and I really dig the noir-ish lounge atmosphere of it all. Maybe if it was released as a solo work or something with TLSP people would appreciate it better. I guess one could say similar things for Simulation Theory but I've still yet to get my head fully round what they're trying to do with it. I think MGMT did that aesthetic better.
