My school district finally blocked the forums on their wi-fi network. Guess it's about time they got around to it considering I've been checking the forums on my time off for about 3 years now. I hope I'm not the only one who used it in my entire district and I don't get a talking to by admin tomorrow lol. The funny thing is though that despite it being a Minecraft server forums and logically, if they were to block it it would be for it being a video game website. No, instead they blocked it for being an "Illegal/Unethical" site. Another interesting thing to add is that Reddit is still completely unblocked despite there being 100+ NSFW subreddits and NSFW on the front page daily. So let's brainstorm a bit here. What exactly could have brought them to this conclusion? What about this website is so illegal/unethical that they had to block it, and why did it take them 3 years? I think maybe they took one look at the forums banner and thought "k this is some weird fart enthusiast site, definitely too unethical for us" which I guess they wouldn't be completely wrong about kek Or maybe they looked through the website and saw lots of talking about hacking and ddosing and the like and got the wrong idea. Or a bot just showed a lot of terms come up in relation to the forums. Hell if I know. Why do you think this site could be seen as "unethical/illegal"? You can reply seriously or make jokes, honestly I'd prefer the latter because who the hell knows how my godawful school district works. Also don't start drama since this is like 90% a joke thread.
There's nothing illegal on this forum, unethical I don't know. Maybe some peoples post here push the boundaries for your school. Just show this picture to your school admin and he'll be pleased to unblock this website
I'm saying it's funny that they blocked it for being "Illegal" and it's not like I check it while I'm working.
My school banned the forums too but I'm always on a VPN so it's fine TBH I don't see what's wrong with these forums, it's just minecraft (the off-topic / spam section really isn't that bad)
they probably use an algorithm to block websites, so they more than likely didnt do it manually. i mean, that's how my school district works. i usually just use my mobile data to browse sites at school.
