I thought this would be a cool and easy addition to the forums:
A technology subforum where you can discuss all things tech.
    Items of discussion could include:
    • Coding
    • New tech
    • Interesting tech
    • Hardware
    • Tech news
Things that would not be allowed:
    • Minecraft related content (That goes to the Minecraft/server discussion subforum)
    • Gaming in general( That belongs in other games). Although things like gaming keyboards or stuff of that nature would be allowed.
This suggestion could promote discussion on the forums which is always a positive.

    COMMON ARGUMENTS:

    "It's unnecessary"
That argument can be applied to any suggestion, as no single suggestion is completely necessary. It is of my belief that the benefit of this suggestion outweighs the effort of implementing it. This further mitigates the unnecessary argument.

"It creates more work for staff to enforce."
Again that argument can be applied to anything. Besides reports involving wrong sections are solved in minutes and take next to zero effort to execute.

"Just ust use a pre-existing subforum"
Again the same could be said for any other subforum. The whole point of this suggestion is to promote more discussion by creating a new subforum. Technology is universal in the sense that everyone is able to talk about it in some degree.

I'm undecided. This sounds like a cool addition, but I just don't know if people would actually use it. Sure, there are a few coders in the community, but they don't make up a majority of users.

The subforum is not just for programmers. It could be for anything tech related (not gaming). For instance there could be discussion about a new phone, autonomous cars, recent tech news, ect. All of these things are topics that the general community knows about and can contribute to discussion.

The reason I disagree is because there's already sections like general discussion where a lot of shit is discussed including technology and I don't see a point in creating a whole new one for this. It's like the donator forum. It's dead as fuck and was unnecessary, all things discussed are always in general discussion

I think it would be unreasonable to have sub forums for various hobbies/interestings.
If they make a technology sub forum, people may start asking for a sub forum for their interest too.
inb4 anime sub forum, television sub forum, sports sub forum, etc.
There are already more broader sub forums such as "real life stuff" and "general" that could be used for technology discussion.

This would be helpful for people that want help with pc's and phones so I 100% with this suggestion
Also a good thing to put here would be Help with tech

I think the difference is that everyone here is interacting with technology in some way, to even access this site, so a large proportion of people have an opinion or are interested in some form of technology. However, not everyone here is interested in anime, TV, sports etc. whereas a Technology forum has a broader appeal.

Okay but why not just put it in general or real life stuff?
Spreading out where threads should go doesn't create more activity, it just, well, spreads things out rather than keeping it centralized.

I agree, I think this would be pretty cool as I am interested in technology myself.

I don't really see this subforum used that often though, that's why I am undecided.

I agree actually, recently I've been diving into some tech involving phone stuff such as bluetooth headphones, different types of phones and all that. It's a really interesting topic to me and it'd be cool to be given some sort of opportunity to discuss it with peeps
