Stealing a quote from the other thread :P Whether you come back or not, remember what I told you: use this as a learning experience, ask yourself what really matters and even the best of us can be douchey sometimes (especially me). Take responsibility of it. You're awesome and have so much potential. <3 <3
It's a shame, though there were many before you who had to deal with this same issue, some even had a harder time but stayed determined. Being a staff member isn't all fun and games, you should bare in mind that nobody asked you to help out, you're a volunteer who agreed to take on responsibility. Expecting the respect of others because you carry a rank and perform tasks is wrong, you would only be deluding yourself. As for this quote, you should realize that lying is unacceptable, especially when occupying a position like this. Everything you do represents the community, it's important to know whether you can be trusted or not. If you're having trouble dealing with situations, thoughts etc. then you need to make sure to get it out of your system if you want to continue onward, there are a lot of people willing to lend you a hand. This goes basically for anyone in the staff team, not just you, but what's done is done.
I personally see that as a perfectly good reason to expect a basic level of respect. The staff are (unpaid) employees of the server, and you should not be disrespectful to someone trying to do the job they were assigned. For example, if you were to walk into a McDonald's and talk to the employee at the register, you should do so with the full knowledge that if you act up too much, that employee has every right to refuse service and kick you out. Even if the employee sucks at their job, that does not give you the right to disrespect them in their place of business. That doesn't mean we should actually expect people to be respectful all the time, but the social norm is that respect is the standard expectation, and anyone failing to give it is a lesser person for it. We anticipate disrespectful people, but we still should be able to expect a certain degree of respect for the volunteer work we do.
