[Old Survival] Nether Portal Problem

In which minigame/server does the bug occur: Old Survival

Detailed description of bug: When I went to survival through the hub it put me in survival but I stood in the survival portal too long and it acted like a regular portal which teleported me to the Nether in lava to which I died unfortunately.
Here's a screenshot of the part of the Nether it teleports you to.

You can test it out yourself by going close to the portal in the survival spawn - but not too close otherwise it'll teleport you to the hub - and wait for it work like a normal nether portal.

 

It has always been like that, though it is presumably not of any harm thus not worth "fixing".

I don't understand why it teleported you in lava, I checked it and I spawned on a surface like normally.

 

Yeah same thing happened to me earlier.
It teleports you to a random location within the nether.
Therefore it could be lava or land.
