    Hey, why not anybody can qualify to be a staff member as long as they follow the rules and respect other players you will have a great chance at being accept(just write a lot, in your application, make sure it is meaningful).

    @Unprepossessing should be staff cause I think she would do a awesome job I was gonna suggest myself but that would be against the rules of this post so yes he/she whatever unprepossessing is should be staff

    But enough with jokes now.

    I am no longer playing Minecraft, just making mods and security tools.

    I would just like to say, yes. I agree that popularity doesn't always play a role when selecting new staff members since that's how it went with me, nobody knew who I was since I was only playing for a week at the time. But it's not true that it has no influence at all. It's quite opposite.
    I was selected by admins who did it simply because they had seen me as a qualified individual.

    When you let regular people or regular Mods handle the recruitments, popularity and connections are always a major factor. It's been like that before, is now, and will be in the future as well. There were only a few people that I know (including myself) over the years that were neutral and only had server's future in mind, even though it meant denying their friends of the position.

    It could be biased but as I said in another thread that there are already issues with current staff. There are people who only want to be staff because it gives them some sense of importance and popularity. You'll have that on any server. Though I think that I think this could be a place where regular players can say.... X person would be good for staff because of Y (and list the qualities).

    IMO I think when someone regularly helps other people by answering questions, for example, that is someone I would consider. If a player regularly reports cheating via screenshot, /report or posting videos.. that is another quality I would consider.

    I do not think that it should be up to a vote by the player base. I think it's something that staff should consider. I think if the owners and admin came up to someone and said something like... hey I notice that you are very patient and helpful to other players would you ever consider being staff? Would be a better way to integrate awesome yet otherwise unknown players to staff.

    This isn't suggesting that members pick the staff, this is simply to discuss potential staff and maybe have a tiny influence.
