    Absolutely disagreed.

You can just like all of your posts to increase your like point and it's pretty exploitable.

    Wow, you're mean.
    Also, think of its benefits.

Disagreed for the same reason Teddie gave. You can say I'm mean because it's pretty much true. ;)

Lol, I don't see any benefits with this, as getting your like count up isn't a benefit.
The whole point of likes, at least in my opinion is to show that you agree or like what a person has said, not as a statistic to show off.

I don't really think what I said was mean but if it was mean to you, then I apologize.

You're talking about benefits, right? What benefits would come out of this; I'm just curious.

Disagreed 100%, there will definitely be people who abuse this.

If it isn't supposed to be a satistic, why does it show the total amount of likes a person has received when you click on their profile?
Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

But think about its benefits rather than hating. I like my own comments on YouTube so it would be stupid if I couldn't do the same on a forums.

You tell me the benefits. Go on. I'm waiting.

How and why would anyone ever abuse this, though? Other than increasing the amount of likes you have.

Writing constant status updates to boost likes. Yes, it is true Like spamming is a large factor of why some people have many likes nowadays, but that would just be a complete and utter rewrite of the likes. Likes are supposed to be earned from OTHER people, to increase popularity etc, not just all of a sudden "I'm going to give myself 500 likes".

You claim that likes increase popularity but then @tence3000 said

So what is it staff? For popularity or not? Get your shit together!

    Oh boy.

By popularity, I meant this little page here:
    upload_2017-9-6_19-12-57.png
It's a simple concept, as you get more likes, you come closer to getting near this page. I didn't mean likes were "all about being really popular", I meant that likes are usually earned by OTHERS, that's the entire concept. There's no way to defend the fact that this would be clearly abused dude.

Hmm I see your point but what stops people from just making multiple accounts and liking their own posts? Think outside the box some hackers might do that.

@nurdercem May I ask why you disagree?

It still belongs to them lol, how's that a valid point on why it should be added. It's technically still liking you're own posts. Not to mention, I don't think that's allowed.

Forum users can become illegally liking. So it is unfair to others

I don't think what you said was mean either. I was just calling them out for calling you mean for disagreeing.

I don't think it's for popularity, I think it's for people who make an effort to be actively participating on the forums. If you make the post, you already know you like it.

    @Joeyy said it all.
As I said it is to express how many people agree with you or like a joke you made.
It doesn't make sense for you to agree with yourself or think what you said was good.

    I wouldn't mind wasting a day for an extra 11k likes :,)

Aside from increase like count this does literally nothing beneficial. And everyone increasing their like counts eventually (almost) weighs out.
I don't agree due to obvious reasons, although it would be funny to go up to 30k
