So since college is freeeee throughout Germany, would any of you guys consider travelling abroad to study there? Let's say, for example, at the University of Berlin.

I definitely would. I want to get out of this country and travel anyway. You could literally live for like 600 euros there per month. It sounds amazing tbh.

no cause for only 2,000 a year you can get professors with the thickest dutch accents. i wouldn't take *even more unbearable* german accents even if it was free

No, I wouldn't. I'm going to be doing two years here in RI for free tuition, and then I'm transferring to Syracuse or University of Florida.

Definitely not. I wouldn't travel to western Europe with it's current issues. And I'm anti socialist.
Also, I want to study in my home nation (which just so happens to be the greatest nation on Earth, ever).

Well considering the current state of western Europe, I wouldn't want to travel there and have to live there. I also don't feel it's the government's responsibility to pay for education.

Well I don't really want to get off track from the OP's meaning of posting the thread, but I don't agree with Merkel or the demands the EU is giving to nations (on the economy, refugees, etc), to put it bluntly.

I wanted to do this, like exactly, and was starting to plan it with my mum.
aaaand I kind of gave up at school so I'm stuck here (doing more education smh)
But honestly, do it. Europe is no more dangerous than any other (western) country currently and you're unlikely to be able to do this again any time soon.
Make sure you have money for your visas (working + studying), money to go over (I think it was 7000 euros when I checked), and a plan of action so you aren't as afraid when you go over there.

At most maybe a year, but I’d rather stay here in the states.

If I were to study abroad, Berlin is my first pick. The architecture there is amaaaaazing.

Well the influx of refugees into western Europe is not good in my opinion. Most of these "refugees" coming over into western Europe are men of fighting age. A refugee is a woman, a child, or an elderly person. On top of that, officials have stated that these "refugees" are seeking economic safety, that makes you a migrant, not a refugee.

What these "refugees" have done to local communities is something I would rather stay away from.

To an extent it depends on personal preference. Obviously if you're an American, going somewhere such as Germany gives you the ease of having far fewer financial obligations.

There are pros and cons to consider. One being that I don't think all courses are available in English. Learning German is an obvious requirement. If that's cool with you, you'll do fine.

One big reason to go somewhere like Germany is because it can open more doors in terms of prospects. An example being that Germany is renowned for engineering. If you're going for that sort of thing, I'd 100% recommend it, otherwise as I said at the start it comes down to personal preferences.
