So I need some of you to settle this debate for me:

Can something be your favorite without it being the best?

i.e, Tyler The Creator is my favorite artist, while I acknowledge that others are better
    or,
Spider Man PS4 is one of my favorite games, but there are many better

I say they really have nothing to do with one another, discuss.

Yes, a lot of things are my favorite but they're not considered the best. I can give you better examples on discord.

Do you mean that in the general opinion something is considered better yet you prefer something else?
If yes, yeah, that’s perfectly plausible.

    think of it this way:

think of the word ‘best’ as the generally most liked thing amongst a community, rather than being the definite highest quality. i.e. xxxtentacion is my favourite rapper, but in technical rap qualities, there are better.

to put it simply, i believe ‘best’ is more preference than fact.

even the ‘better rapper’ factor is simply down to preference. i tend to listen to more screamo or sad/emo rap than i do old-school or grime. somebody likes old-school and grime more than the stuff i listen to.

so if you mean preference, yes.

in skill (we’re talking rap, so flow, lyricism, production, etc.), still yes
