Not all of the Turkish language symbols support minecraft "chat". That's why they show up like ▶

The problem can't be fixed by J&H themselves, you'll need to contact Mojang for that

There is a plugin that block those weird symbols. Just search on google.

It's just something you have to deal with honestly. We can't tell them to not speak Turkish because it's their native language; it's like a Turkish player telling English speaking players to not speak English because it annoys them and they don't understand it.

There was a rule in the past where only english was allowed in chat. People made many complaints about it and the rule was trown in the trash bin. You probably don't understand why people talk turkish mostly. I am dutch so I can speak english and dutch. Even though I'm almost fluent in english, I still prefer to talk dutch. So when there are dutch people, I will talk dutch. You also need to keep in mind that the server has some younger people on it, who can't speak english that good, but still want to communicate with others. Talking in your native language is just nicer.

Imagine going onto the server to find out you can only speak Turkish.
You do not know Turkish, so you ask another player you recognise "Why can't we speak English now?"
    >Muted for 2 days.

Very unfair rule and I am glad it was removed.
Yes, we may not understand non-English speaking players all the time, but they do try.
We can't speak their language so let's appreciate it when they speak ours.

Look it's understandable where you are coming from.
Sometimes it is so frustrating talking to a Turkish person where neither one is being understood, but it's frustrating because you want to help them.
We will all kinda get frustrated at some point, but it's good you made a thread like this instead of an incoherent rant.

I agree with this. You just have to deal with the fact that they are speaking their native language.

There are people from all over the world. It can be frustrating but how would you feel if they complained about English speakers when they can hardly understand it.

I remember when I was instant-warned for speaking Turkish as a meme.
I was 12 or something then though.

I believe the default texture pack for Minecraft supports Turkish symbols, so could it be just an issue with most texture packs not supporting Turkish symbols.

I agree that those weird chat symbols are annoying. However, I don't think there is a way to remove them.

I kinda agree that it's annoying and not just the weird symbols but just people talking a language you don't understand in general. I'm dutch myself and speak dutch sometimes in chat and it would be kinda annoying for me not being allowed to speak dutch since it's my native language, so the rule against it would just annoy people and some people who aren't able to speak english would just get in trouble for trying to talk to people which sounds pretty stupid to me. I do think there needs to be staff who speaks turkish and english since some turkish players swear in turkish and most people wont even know.

As for your question about the symbols, it isn't anything J&H can fix. It's how your Minecraft font responds.

There are some resource packs that recognise the symbols that Turks use.

I use Vattic's Faithful 32x32 and I am able to see that the symbol that looks like a play button is actually an oddly shaped "I".

As for the chat, let them have fun in their own language :)
