So, I realized yesterday that I use a stupid amount of browser extensions. I also regularly switch between 3 browsers (FF, Chrome, Opera). So... I got to wondering. What do other people use, what do you know about, what might I be missing out on, and why? For the sake of convenience, I am going to list my FireFox extensions only. Many of these extensions are for multiple browsers and multiple platforms, but I am only going to focus on Windows Desktop Firefox. Yes, I literally use 20 extensions with some having overlapping features... And yes, I wouldn't have it any other way. Security -Hoxx VPN (Free VPN Service) -LastPass (Password manager that is cross-browser and cross-platform) -HTTPS Everywhere (Tries to use HTTPS on all sites so that if available, you get it) -Cookie AutoDeleter (Name explains it all) Ad and Tracker blockers -AdBlock Plus (I added extra filters into it, but everyone uses this I think) -AdGuard AdBlocker (Another adblocker, blocks in-video ads too) -AdNausseam (Blocks trackers that advertisers use to make ads custom to you) -Ghostery (Blocks trackers and ads from a lot of crap) -uMatrix (A Firewall blocking tons of scripts, ads, frames, and so on) -Popup Blocker Ultimate (Hands down best pop-up blocker) -Privacy Badger (tracks trackers and learns new things to block over time) Netflix/YT Enhancements -Bingeflix (Skips show intros and hits next video automatically for you) -Netflix Tweaked (prevents auto-play trailers and moves your list to the top row) -Better Netflix (Adds aspect ratio options, zoom options, time elapsed into the video, bitrates and more) -Enhancer for YouTube ( removes adds, loop videos, whitelist/blacklist channels, pin video) -Iridium for YouTube (play video in a pop-out window, Make video visible when scrolling, remove FPS caps, re-add old removed features, whitelist ads for people you subscribe to, etc) -Video DownloadHelper (self-explanatory) -Video Speed Controller (Change speed of video playback. Helps when binge watching shows/movies Cosmetic/General -Grammarly (useful for grammar/spelling in long-winded posts) -New Tab Tools (Customize new tab page) What do you use and why?
LastPass, Tunnelbear, some Adblocker, Honey (you should definitely get this one if you don't have it Ezz) and a few others that I forgot.
I do use Honey, just not in firefox. I use chrome for shopping/social media Firefox for daily use like gaming, netflix, youtube, etc.. and Opera for education. Each browser operated a little differently, so I use them with different purpose :)
google chrome. no extensions at all. i use tunnelbear as a vpn whenever i need one, which doesn't happen often. sometimes i like to use the steam shift-tab browser, hands down better than any browser ever 11/10 /s
i only use chrome for my browser. i technically use no extensions, but i do use tunnelbear for a vpn. i might look into some, because the ones you use seem pretty intriguing, but this is it for now
