100 Years - The 20th Century

Yes, this thread may be weird to you, because it's about history, but give it a shot please.

Hello once again,

since I am a nerd and interested in history, I'd like to introduce a new kind of "thread series", if you can call it that way.
This is a series, I'll tell you important events of any year of the 20th century.
It will include quotes of eyewitnesses, pictures and perhaps some videos.
It retells stories of the whole century, from World War I over World War II until the Cold War.

You can vote for one year, that I should make the first thread about, in the poll above.

Just saying, you cant really say when the cold war started, thats what ive learned atleast ;)
