So 1.12 just came out, and I would love to hear some opinions about it. Personally, I love the new building blocks, which will bring some more variety to builds. And who doesn't love the parrots :p
I don't really like the PvP in version 1.12. Other than that, it's pretty good. Especially the parrots. :D
I like 1.12 but I wouldn't consider it my favorite, I like how that MC has a more lush color to it thanks to all the wool blocks and I also like all the decorations you can make with Terracotta blocks. :) However I feel that aside from that there isn't a whole lot you can do with the blocks in survival mode, which I'm kind of bummed about but on the other hand I think this was meant to be a creative update. So Yeah I do quite like this update. :)
At 1.8 it was clear they started running out of ideas, no? They started adding things that were not very on-par (they just didn't fit) with the game :/. I guess they're only bringing out updates so it doesn't make the game look outdated. But on the bright side, at-least this opens a lot more doors to people who play singleplayer.
i don't know anything that's in 1.12 and i don't care excuse me for being blunt, but anything after 1.9 is complete garbage and a clear presentation of how mojang keeps milking the dead cow
I've said this many times before and I'll say it again It feels like I'm playing a modded version, not vanilla minecraft. If it feels like I'm playing a mod, something's wrong. IE: The terracotta blocks, "illagers," 1.11 as a whole, etc (I'm not talking about the new pvp mechanics)
The terracotta blocks look disgusting. Parrots? No. Cement? What? This is Minecraft not Bob the builder. Colored beds? Pretty cool ig.
I haven't tested it out but I'm liking it from the snapshots/pictures/information. What we need to understand is that Minecraft isn't what it was back in 2012 or 2013, heck, even 2014/15. It still does well in sales ofc but there's a constant of newer, younger players incoming so Mojang/Microsoft has to keep updating the game to keep these younger kids interested. Minecraft's population is slowly including more and more younger players, especially since Mojang/Microsoft are focusing more and more on the console or phone versions of the game (a lot of younger kids these days play console/on their phone more than the computer). The downside is though that some of the older players (prime examples in this thread) don't like the way MC is going, but it's something we ultimately have to deal with because Mojang/Microsoft has to cater to the newer audience. The game has been out for almost ten years now, and let's be gracious that it's still a big thing and is still being updated/worked on with care.
I haven't test this version yet, but from what I saw from YT, it looks decent I guess Parrots and colored beds are the only thing I like from this update. The others are just.. meh, doesn't look appealing to me Mojang srsly, you need to slow down with the updates.
To be honest, I think they're trying too damn hard to make 'impressive' things. The parrots are nice and the beds make sense... but the rest of the crap is just space filler. If they worried about making one (maybe two) awesome update a year it would make a greater impact. Right now it looks like this small stuff is trying to keep them afloat and relevant.
Honestly I got lost and confused playing the update because I could not keep track of everything that was new, and realized that there was simply too much now lol. I think they need to slow their roll with the new stuff.
Ignoring the pvp as that is one of the biggest downfalls in every of the more recent versions of Minecraft, I would like it but as @t3mptr3s said, it feels like they are trying too hard. Because they are trying too hard the game just doesn't feel 'natural' anymore as in I feel like I'm playing a modded version of Minecraft instead of the real thing. I don't know, maybe that's just me...
