Hey everyone. Today is national silence day and it's the day where people stay silent for a day to spread awareness about the effects of bullying and harassment of the LGBT community and students. Just don't speak for the day to be apart of it and if you don't feel comfortable doing this, just spread what day it is. Spreading awareness for this should be an everyday thing, but I'm really happy my school is allowing their students to stay silent for the day. Also if you actually do stay silent and someone thinks they can say "I don't care what day it is, just speak," get out a pen and some paper and make them understand that if they don't care about your beliefs, you don't have to care about theirs. I'm staying silent, so I hope you can spread awareness.
Don't get mad at me for asking please, but how does this relate to the bullying/harassment towards the LGBT+ community? If I had to guess it's because of the peeps that stay silent while this harassment stuff is going on..?
“At a time of uncertainty and fear, this year’s Day of Silence takes on added importance. Thousands of students in elementary, middle and high schools across the country will take part, acting to end the silence caused by stigma, discrimination, and violence directed at LGBTQ people. Their symbolic silence and the actions they take to end that silence for themselves and others represent a moving and powerful commitment to positive change,” said GLSEN’s Executive Director Dr. Eliza Byard. here's a good resource, https://www.glsen.org/day-of-silence/faq#f1

Good job (: Glad your schools allow this day (: . Why does never hearing about mean you don't participate? You heard about it when I posted 6 hours ago, so you could have. You just didn't want to. Anyways, I stood silent today. Was a nice day.
