Well guys, I hope you all enjoy the server. I won't be on much now that this horrible update is in development. I personally think Minecraft was fine at 1.8/1.9, but these new items and those ugly blocks? Its quite clear whats happening. Microsoft is trying to appeal to kids with flashy items and its sad and disappointing to see what the game has come to. If you were around since 1.2.5, you would know how much better it was back then and I'm done with the game after those terracotta blocks...
I've noticed in creative that when you try to place the new blocks it doesn't allow you, But yeah I do agree some blocks are gross and disgusting looking, but I don't really take notice because I'm always on factions :D
Actually, https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/5wj9rv/damn_you_guys_the_worlds_biggest_game_minecraft/ While I agree with you, Minecraft is still apparently rising in popularity.
My best friend was playing this game back in the 1.5-1.6 days, and he recommended me MC. We were in 5th grade at the time, and we played on our friend's hamachi server xD. I loved that old old launcher soo much. Idk why I keep coming back truth be told, I find inspiration to play and pretty much go from there. Just thought I'd give some backstory, but yeah I don't really think craftmine is dead yet, I think it's got another good year for it if the updates are worth lmao
I can see why people like 1.9 etc because they had major changes to things people thoroughly enjoyed (e.g PVP). However I don't see the harm in adding new blocks, the more blocks there is the better builds etc can be. You don't have to use them (or you could get a texture pack). Then again people like complaining about Minecraft updates, and I swear everytime a new version is released there are people saying 'this is end of Minecraft'. As long as people are still purchasing the game (which they are) the game won't die. Change is not inherently bad.
Ever since microsoft took over mc, apparently i have been seeing the game being updated like almost every month, which is something retarded. One moment i see the news page of 1.1 and the next day i see new update of iron nuggets and useless crap. They are rushing in the updates and it is hard for us to keep up. Because some of us are so used and comfortable with one version that we do not want to update. Another reason is also because some of us have too many mods already downloaded into one version and we find it a hassle to redownload all the mods with the updated version
1.7.2 was when I started, and It's my favorite version, it just feels like the best to me. And those terracotta blocks make my eyes hurt.
The game isn't dieing out, just some of the older players feel discouraged to play because of the fast, efficient updates. Infact, I myself am not completely fond of how they're going with things but we need to understand the situation we're in. If Minecraft stopped updating, then that's when it would die out.
Take TF2 for an example. There was no update for so long and what? the fandom and everything never stopped. It never died out. This is just the same thing.
if they keep pumping out these horrifyingly bad updates, minecraft could, should, will, and is able to die
Actually, Microsoft may make it look like it's causing minecraft to Die out, but honestly. Every update they ever add always has a reason behind it. For example multiple of there updates fixed a large amount of the bugs that were being found in last Versions. And I'll be honest with you, I'm not as impressed as I would have liked to be, especially in the latest Version releases. But overall, it may seem like minecraft is dying out, but as hundreds quit minecraft per day, thousands of new members are yet to come. ;)
Yeah, I agree with this. Minecraft is still rising in popularity. And if you look at the figures you will see minecrafts sales are still rising and it has become the second highest sold game ever (After Tetris) The game isn't dying. The only reason people believe this is because all the people who played minecraft from the beginning are leaving. That doesn't mean a game is dead. That just means some of the older players are moving on but other people are still filling their positions. The game last year was the 18th highest selling game. Yeah, I would hardly call that 'dying'. I agree with some of the comments above but statistics say otherwise.
I do kinda agree with you. While I wasn't there for the much earlier versions of MineCraft, if my younger self saw 1.12, I doubt he'd be attached to it like I was during 1.6.4 MC really changed over time,
Well it's more like the old people from way back don't like the new changes but the new people love it because the new pvp style is easier for them, while I still think some 1.9 servers still have 1.8 pvp so I'm not sure if the game is technically "dying" its gaining and losing fairly. [I anyway stopped playing since 1.8.9 tbh xD]
